The Law of Attraction
This 2009, 238-page book is more of the Teachings of Abraham and part of the Law of Attraction series by the authors. Although it is quite repetitive, it really does provide very good information. As one might suspect, it is about the Law of Attraction, which basically states that what you put out there is what you get back. The book explains that by providing many Q & As, in which Jerry asks questions of Abraham (a certain collective consciousness group of entities that he and Esther channel information from). Abraham channels the answers. This book is actually about relationships. Beyond the concepts of couples, the term relationships is directed toward any one you may have a relationship with, such as a spouse, significant other, friend, boss, relative, hairdresser, etc. The first section of the book delves into some flaws in beliefs that many people experience, such as "If I push hard enough against unwanted things, they will go away." The book then explains why this is faulted thinking and how to properly align your thinking to achieve the results you truly want. The book then attempts to answer the normal questions that most people would have where they experience discord with a relationship, or have not found an agreeable relationship, or are looking for something better. Some of the many questions addressed ask about attracting a mate, a soul-mate, why people may choose a mate that is not in alignment with them, relationships between parents and children, relationships between employees and the boss, etc. I think it is probably a no-brainer that you have to fix yourself first, before you can be happy with someone else, but there are people who find it hard to admit there may be something wrong with their attitude. One of the major concepts this book will try to explain to you is that you must be happy from the inside out and that you cannot be dependent on someone or something else to make you happy. That is short-lived (temporary) happiness and not lasting happiness. The Law of Attraction is used to explain the concept. In case anyone reading this review is unfamiliar with the Universal Law of Attraction, again, it is that you attract the vibrations you put out. Foe example, if you are insecure and believe you are unworthy of love, you will attract people to you who are the same as you. So, if you are looking for someone who can fill the void within you, it ain't gonna happen. If somehow it does, it ain't gonna last. That's the bottom line. If your glass has a hole in the bottom, it is gonna leak, no matter how much juice you put into it. Eventually, the glass will weaken from the stress and crack, and then shatter. It might even cut you pretty badly in the process. Honestly, I don't think there is anything in this book that I read that I didn't agree with. It's all true and we probably all need to be reminded periodically, so we don't slip backwards. It is so easy to lose our footing and forget who we really are amidst the anger and tension around us. It is so important to be secure within ourselves, to realize we are a piece of the Divine, when others try to force us into negativity, so that we may stand strong in our own convictions and stay in the Light. This is the way forward, out of the fog and into the Light. Although the book is repetitive, for some it must be so. The bottom line is that the information within it is invaluable. Namaste'

Tuff Love
Abraham ends every workshop with the words "There is great love here for you" and yet at times the messages are delivered with a lack of "feeling". I equate this with the "tuff love" approach. Much of what he says is not easy to hear, yet we need to hear it. Many of his messages require us to re-think what we currently believe and adhere to...that is the point of Abraham...to enlighten us to do better, have better, and be better. And Abraham only responds to questions that we have asked...and so it is my belief that if you are hearing or reading the messages from Abraham, at some level you have asked and therefore are attracted to his answers. The message about parent/child relationships seems to receive the most negative responses. In my work to help parents become "awakened" to the wisdom of Abraham concerning parenting and the parent's role in their children's lives is often met with enormous resistance. Many times parents feel Abraham is telling them to "let go" and "let the child". This leaves them with a sense of dismissing their responsibility as a parent to take care of and watch over their children...in essence take their control over their children's lives away. It is here that I feel Abraham could be a bit more specific in the Vortex. I was fortunate to have been raised (many years ago) by forward thinking parents to live by the principles of the law of attraction long before the term was a household word. This, combined with years of purposefully studying, practicing, and teaching these principles I can attest to the fact that it is the absolute best way to raise your children to be and have and do all they want in life AND all parents want for them. The law of attraction (Abraham's message) clearly charges parents with the responsibility to raise their children...his message clarifys that a parents role is to empower their children with the positive mindset that will encourage the continued connection to Source (God, Divine, Universe or whichever word you choose) in order to create their desires. Unfortunately, parents interpret this to mean they are to allow their children to live in an "unparented" setting, when in fact what Abraham is saying is to protect your children from physical and emotional harm but at the same time allow your children to discover through his own experiences his preferences and beliefs. For example, rather than teaching your children that to eat meat is wrong because you think eating meat is wrong, encourage your child to investigate, gather information, research and then make his own choice as to what preference he feels aligned with...and then honor his preference without judgment or ridicule. In my work, I refer to this as "relate vs dictate". And all that means is, and what Abraham is saying is for parents to NOT instill their thoughts and beliefs into their children but to inspire them to find their own. I highly recommend this book, however I also encourage parents to look at other Abraham-Hicks messages concerning parenting before closing your mind to his teachings. And of course to listen with an open mind... The Law of Attraction: The Next Generation

5-Star Review by America's Spiritual Reviewer
If you only have the energy and the interest to read one spiritual non-fiction book this year, make it The Vortex. It's simply not possible to overstate the importance of the work done by Esther and Jerry Hicks in bringing the teachings of Abraham to our awareness. Abraham is the name for the collection of benevolent, non-religious entities that channel through Esther. This is the third in a series of four Abraham-Hicks books that focus on different aspects of the experience of self as a powerful creator. Creation involves the presence of desire, asking, focused thought, allowing, and getting into "the vortex," a transcendent state of mind where everything you want is magnetized to you. The underlying premise of The Vortex is that you MUST be in alignment with Source to undo resistance and to access the power for manifesting that's available to all of us. Every so-called unwanted condition is the jumping off place for developing preferences and for birthing desires. The basic problem to be resolved is that most people do not focus on the the desire. Instead, they obsess and dwell on what is NOT desired. The Vortex really tured me on to my own potential. I love the idea that I'm a magnificent creator rather than a helpless victim. And I love the promise that I can influence my results by carefully choosing what I pay attention to and what I ignore. This book will be on my top ten list of spiritual books you must read in this lifetime because it gives the reader clear, relevant, practical information in a way that everyone can understand. The straightforward, uncomplicated presentation of material is rarer than you might think.

Great Book!! Get it ASAP!!
This book is mind blowing!! What can I say... buy it, read it, and read it again!! (As soon as possible if you haven't read it.) This book and most of the rest of Abraham-Hicks information will lead you to the promise land..the land where you can create whatever life you want. There is very good information in here concerning all parts of life from children to adult relationships. Mine came with a CD that also hada transcript of a live workshop. The contents of book are like this: Your vortex (Learning to Attract Joyous Co-creators) Mating: The perfect mate, getting one, being one, attracting one.) Sexuality and Sensuality and opinions of others Parenting (Creating Positive parent child relationships) Self-appreciation (The magic key to your vortex) and the last part is a transcript of a workshop which is also on CD included with the book) I have seen some weird stuff in my life since reading this book like just this morning, information I need showed up on my phone as a picture. I was searching Google images for a picture of codes for a certain remote control last night but I couldn't find one that had 4 digits in the code. The pictures all showed only 3 codes. So I cleared my phone and went to bed. Then this morning it was there. It isn't in my photos on my phone or any other folder with pictures and it was not yet uploaded to Google drive so I don't know where it came from. What does this have to do with this book? Just that, we absorb information when we read a book and perhaps that had an effect and I may have unconsciously created what we needed... I don't know. I just know that this book gives you the keys to your own kingdom by explaining what you need to do to get into the Vortex, which is where you create from. Definitely recommended reading!!

You won't be disappointed
Although I am a big fan of Abraham-Hicks I had taken a brake from buying and listening to their stuff for awhile. Just how many ways can you can you say the same thing? I was using this time to try to put into practice what I had been learning and study other non-physical entities. My inner work is successful in some areas not so successful in others. Well the LOA lead me back to this new Abraham book. Had a hard time trying to decide whether to get the DVD or the book. I opted for the book because it comes with an audio CD and I can take the book where ever I go. I love it, love it, love it, both the book and the CD. I play the CD to and from work. I'm about half way thru the book taking my time to digest and meditate on the words. How many ways can you say the same things? well enough so that all different types of people at different stages in their lives can attract and implement the teachings. The book is a well written narrative in a mostly easy to understand wording(occassionally I had to go over the same paragraph a few times to make clear it's meaning). So many ah ha moments reading things I already know or have heard before but the meaning or intention becomes so much clearer. And what's more important is I feel so good when I read the book, I feel the truth of what's being said.

What?
This book is pretty amazing. It extends, if you will, the material from the first book, "Ask And It is Given". Both books offer a far different view of your personal experience and our "typical" responses to that experience than I was initially prepared to encounter! It can kind of rock your world a bit -- but in a good way. One little message from both books is that change is good . . . not only good but absolutely required! Get used to it! You know? The book asks us to get on board, change your view point, change your life -- it's not all that hard -- takes practice, for sure, but it's not all that hard. You need to stick to it, though. In my view: a very worthwhile book. Anyway, we should be acclimating ourselves not only to the reality of life not just on "other planets," but life in other dimensions, as well. We definitely are not alone, people. We'd better get used to it. Adapt. It actually can be fun. The Universe is on our side!

To BE Or Not To BE
It seems to me that if you buy into the premise (and I do) that we all are eternal beings and you grasp even slightly the law of attraction, you will have to see that we are and remain "eternally incomplete". We NEVER get it done! It has always been about the journey and not it's end (which doesn't exist) so, therefore, the only question in physical life is "What am I BEing while I'm doing what I'm doing?" If you're BEing happy the universe says... Ahhhh you want more of that and it brings you more things to be happy about. But because Law is Law the opposite is also true. If you're BEing unhappy the universe says... Ahhhh you want more of that and you get that! Shakespeare said it so long ago to humanity... To BE or not to BE... that is the question. It has always been our choice and Abraham through Esther and Jerry Hicks gives us so many good examples and roadmaps of HOW to bring ourselves back to a place of feeling good... so that we can experience more good in our everyday lives. And, one good feeling at a time, to create a world more harmonious to all it's inhabitants. There are so many good works out there but kudos to Esther and Jerry (and Abraham) for this delightful and enlightening read.

LOVE
This is the only Abraham book I've purchased and read. Excellent easy to understand difficult concepts. Helpful to listen to Abraham Hicks youtube videos too - love love love those! I loved Michael Singer's Untethered Soul, Deepak Chopra's Synchrodestiny, Gesne Roach's How Yoga Works, Dolores Cannon's The New Earth. I think those are the greats and this one goes up there with them. Abraham Hicks has more of a new system though and a way to approach life that actually works practically speaking. Truly amazing. I love love love the format with the questions and answers. This books is just so good and everyone in the world would benefit greatly from reading it...and then the world would benefit greatly :) :) :) Can't recommend enough.

Great book! Get this one too.
One of the great things about the principles expounded by Abraham are in my view that they exist at all. What I mean is, isn't it fantastic that it turns out that the Universe has been constructed in this way, that we ourselves can control everything in our lives, that nothing happens by chance, and that we cannot be victims except by the power of our own negativity? I think it's wonderful, like a fairy tale, or a dream come true. Pity we weren't taught all this in school or on our mother's knee. My favourite Abraham book is "Ask and it is given". I found it slightly difficult to get into this one - for some reason I didn't find it particulary readable at first. In this book Abraham for the first time, I think, talks about "the Vortex", "Vortex of attraction" or "Vortex of becoming". This apparently contains all the requests you have ever made, and when you finally get into the Vortex by continually reaching for better and better thoughts, all your wishes will be granted - you will become "You", as Abraham puts it. The book is highly inspiring. I think perhaps no one Abraham book is necessarily better than any other, but the more you read the books and try to practice the precepts, the more you integrate the teachings, i.e. the more you really "get it", and the more you understand and appreciate the next book. So when I got to the end of the book, I felt it was the best of their books, not necessarily because it actually is (and anyway there is no objective truth), but because I've got slightly further in the process. Abraham says that the fastest way to improve matters in your life is to make peace with your current situation and make lists of all the positive aspects you can find about it i.e. make the best of where you are. A few years ago I was sleeping on a mattress on the floor because I couldn't afford a bed, although my physical problems were such that I had difficulty getting up from it. But every night I thanked the Universe for my comfortable mattress, and after a few months an acquaintance informed me she wanted to give me a bed + mattress she no longer had use for, and couldn't be bothered to sell. She and her partner drove it out to my flat, installed it and carted away the old mattress to the dump. Before that I had lived in a tiny one-room flat, but again thanked the Universe every night for it. After a few months, I was offered a bigger and better flat, and a friend's husband and family helped me with the removal, transporting all my stuff to the new place at no cost to me. In both cases I had got into the Vortex by the act of gratitude. Back to the book. There are useful chapters about "mating", sexuality, parenting and self-appreciation. And finally, prior to the transcript of the enjoyable and amusing CD, we are offered a few simple processes to help release resistance and find a path into the Vortex. I will be doing these processes when I've bought an exercise book. I strongly recommend this book to EVERYONE. Five stars.

One of those books to keep on the bedside table....
This book is Ester Hick`s greatest contribution - a must read - inspiring, challenging, empowering.. full of wisdom brought across in a style of clarity. Esther Hicks is the person who has changed my life - she brought me a completely different perspective of how to face reality. All her insights of immense wisdom otherwise available in her speeches on video platforms are gathered as condensed information in this book - and MIND it is absolutely tangible, practical spirituality. I wish every person interested in a better life quality to learn about that book ! This is why I chose to write this review.... the enclosed CD is another great bonus !
