Phenomenal Monitor for the Price!
This has been such a great monitor over the years. I have had zero issues with it during the time i’ve had it. The colors are very vibrant, much more so than my other TN panel. The brightness is very good as well. It has all the porta you could use these days as well. The tilt and swivel is phenomenal. I’ve recommended this to 2 friends and they also purchased it an still have it to this day.

Crystal clear and reasonably priced
Great monitor. Crystal clear with lots of customizable controls in the settings. Has three inputs so I can have it plugged into my work laptop, personal computer and my Mac. Been using it for a while now and absolute quality.

Just received it, but great monitor
Update: If your display keeps flickering black seemingly at random or when you click on a window, make sure you disable GSYNC in the Nvidia control panel. Apparently it's when you have a HDMI source, even if you use DisplayPort with this monitor. If it happens at all just disable it, it isn't worth the hassle unless you use this as a secondary monitor to a real GSYNC monitor. I followed another review's instructions for a beautiful HDR display: Enable HDR in Windows settings, set NVIDIA color settings (bottom of 'change resolution' option) to YCbCr422, 10bpc, and limited range. Make sure to enable HDR in the monitor's settings OSD. In HDR mode it is beautiful and runs/looks great at 144hz or more. HDR is a bit too bright for me, so I set it back to SDR with mid brightness and it looks pretty good/standard. You really need to mess with the display settings in either your OS or the monitor itself to get it right, don't freak out if it looks wrong when you first get it. Overall this monitor is exactly as described and looks amazing if you enable HDR. My biggest complaint is the cheap/wobbly stand. I'd recommend getting a good replacement if possible. I had no issues with brightness except with HDR, but that's par for the course. Light bleed seemed perfectly acceptable to me, even with HDR enabled. OSD controller know is easy and intuitive, made it easy even with another monitor bordering the edge. I highly recommend this monitor, I upgraded from a CB271HU and it's much nicer.

DO NOT BUY: Bricked and Useless in less than Two Years
I purchased two of these monitors to use in a dual monitor setup. For a while they seemed fine enough and worth the money, however just short of having had them for two years BOTH monitors suddenly stopped working in short order of one another. Now when powered on instead of displaying my computer's output I'm instead treated to the Acer logo being flashed every three seconds as the monitor turns itself off and on endlessly. Needless to say it is unacceptable for a product to fail from less than two years regular of use, especially two of them purchased at the same time which I doubt is a coincidence. These monitors were well taken care of and as far as I can tell suffered from a short in their main board that other buyers have reported. I was in the process of trying to get Acer to honor the three year warranty that these monitors come with, but nothing substantive ever came out of it. They insisted that I ship the monitors back to them for service at cost to myself, and offered no guarantee to repair my devices without the possibility of additional charges. To make matters worse they stipulated it could take multiple weeks to get my devices back to me, which would have left my computer with no display for that entire duration. Ultimately I chose to forgo the repair process and instead buy new monitors from a different company. The cost of shipping such a massive parcel and the potential for additional costs from repairs would have ate into a budget better spent on an entirely new product. Now I'm out ~600USD and am stuck with two massive Acer branded paper weights. Needless to say Needless to say I will never be buying another Acer product again, and I recommend that anyone reading this review avoid making my mistake.

Fantastic monitor for the price
I was shopping for a monitor since I have been laptop gamer for my entire gaming career. I saw this monitor had good reviews, so I checked it out and decided to buy it. First off, it was extremely simple to but the monitor together and plug it into my laptop! It was very quick and easy. This monitor actually boosts my FPS compared to when I was playing on just the laptop. I am also able to run the same amount of FPS on 2560x1440 (2k) compared to 1920x1080 (1080p). The monitor works smoothly in game and for daily use. The 0.5ms response time is very quick and smooth. There is basically no delay when pressing onto the keys on my keyboard while typing and moving in game. The 170 hz response time and the vibrant colors make gaming look a whole lot better when compared to my laptop. It is really a huge difference and makes my gaming experience a lot more enjoyable. There is a ton of adjustability on this monitor. There is way more than I even need, but it is good that there are more options available. I don't know if this is just me but I am able to set my res to 4K when it is advertise to go up to 2K. I guess this is a good bonus for me.

Good Monitor
Coming from 1080p, this is my 1st 1440p monitor that I wanted for upcoming PC games. Works well. Tested, no dead pixels or color problems. Stand is sturdy but may wobble on a cheap desk, but no more than most other monitors. Tip: Is this your first 1440p monitor? Change the refresh rate to match the monitor in windows (I set mine to 144Hz). Turning on “Refresh Rate Num” in the monitor control panel will show the monitor refresh rate on screen. This is great so you can adjust certain games so that the refresh rate won’t change after exiting the game (EXAMPLE: Playing a certain game changed the refresh rate to 60Hz. Exiting the game, the Hz stayed that way and caused mouse lag and other issues in another game. This was fixed by changing the graphics setting in the 60Hz game to full screen instead of windowless border). The only downsides are acceptable: it does have a slight backlight bleed in the bottom right corner, but it is barely noticeable unless you are in a dark room and looking for it on a black screen, and no more than most other IPS panel monitors. Also, as mentioned in another review, was that the monitor came shipped with the panel pulled apart (shown in image). I snapped it back in place and the monitor is working. QC at Acer needs to do a better job and add 2 more seconds to close the panel. Lost a star on that one. Conclusion: I am happy with the monitor and will recommend it for $300 or less.

Got what I paid for
UPDATE in 2025: This monitor actually DOES have speakers despite my initial thoughts reading other reviews. You have to go into the monitor settings (using the buttons on the side) and unmute it in audio settings :) Not an expert by any means on monitors because my previous one I've had for about 10 years and it wasn't even 1080p. Ended up buying this one because the price was pretty good and it had high res and and a high refresh rate. Had it since September of last year and it still works. It's very bright (I had to turn down the brightness on it), has great vibrant colors, and all around I really love using it. It has about two dead pixels which I know some people have a problem with but I really don't think they're noticeable unless you're really looking for them. I'll update my review should it ever break, but for now.. 5 stars.

Pretty Good, Poor Viewing Angles
When viewing directly on, the screen looks quite good. However, for an IPS, if this is a true IPS, it has some very poor viewing angles. I had a VA panel with wider angles than this panel has. I get wash out starting at around 30 degrees from center either direction horizontally, 15 degrees vertically. HDR looks nice, though it is a shame that for 10bit HDR you’re locked at 120hz. Black light bleed is noticeable, this will depend on your panel as well though, as it will vary. My panel hits 409 nits, which is good enough. Compared to the 4K 60hz HDR screen on my Alienware M17 R4, the Nitro has SIGNIFICANTLY less backlight bleed. And, while the Acer Panel is at 409 nits, and the M17 sits at a comfortable 523 nits, the HDR looks much better on the Acer Panel. In a lot of ways, though it’s 1440p, overall it looks better than the 4K screen on the M17. Pretty sure Alienware uses $10 panels on their $3500 laptops, as it’s definitely not the highest end screen I’ve seen on a laptop.
