Hit or miss.
It's like a hit or miss with these things. For the price it's worth a shot, just cause kennel prices are ridiculous. We have one that like clockwork, works every time, jam free. Then we have had two others, which after a week, or maybe two weeks it will jam. You can unjam it and it'll work again for a week maybe. I think it also has to do with food size, smaller being less jamming. Even so with the jamming, it still is nice. Amazon luckily has no problem returning and sending a different one. So if you have patience you could potentially get one that is like the one we have now. As reliable as ole faithful.

Works Great
I use this to feed three chickens a treat in the evening while I'm on vacation. Before I leave, I put in new batteries, set the time, feed time, and portions. I have been using this for about two years and so far, have had no problems. My chickens seem to like it also....LOL

Faulty
I had to stop using after about a week because the proper portions dont come out and also slit is big enough for paws to get into so they can get bigger portions-cheaply made

Not impressed
Had repaired the battery contacts And replaces The switch Now it works great

Cool Pet Feeder Easy to Setup Yet Sometimes Jams Up
I really like the concept of this feeder. It's super easy to program, the bowl is removable for easy cleaning, and it has a voice feature that I've not tormented my cats with yet. My only challenge with this has been many foods jam the machine, which makes me fear depending on it for any traveling duration. For convenience, while I'm at home, it's nice to know the cats are being fed on schedule, and they've gotten slightly Pavlovian over the time and dispensing gear noise. I think the problem is food size. Last weekend, I'd manually sorted through the cats' food, removing any pieces which weren't exactly small and round and placed them directly in the bowl, and this seemed to get it working smoothly for a few days until jamming up again (maybe missed a not perfectly round small piece). This device would be fantastic if it didn't jam up so frequently with the food. I'd like to be able to leave this unattended. This runs on D batteries and I've gotten several weeks out of standard (non-alkaline) versions. Was very pleased with this as was concerned this would eat up batteries vs. using an A/C adapter. It doesn't, which is great.Sometimes it only jams slightly, releasing some food into the tray but not the amount originally planned. I'd tried increasing the quantity dispensed to over-compensate, but this only worked intermittently and wasn't a solution. Some solutions I've found have been either wiggling fingers into the dispenser from where it comes out to move the plastic pieces that jammed up, removing the food portion (turn unit upside down first to avoid spillage of food) and clearing the jam and bending the plastic back into shape, or a 3rd solution, poking a long stick down the middle from the top. Basically, there's something with the dispensing mechanism that's challenged by larger than tiny food sizes or perhaps the weight? Perhaps future models could have an adjustment for size of food instead of just controlling it by portion size. GREAT concept, but really needs some tweaks.Previously I had a unit which held 6 days of food and rotated, eliminating the possibility of food jamming a mechanism, though when it broke, I purchased this one as it can feed up to 3x/day and holds a large amount of food at a time. Unfortunately, unlike my previous unit, I don't feel confident leaving my pets for days at at time with this one without someone checking in on them as I'd hate for it to jam up and leave them hungry. I like well-fed cats.Despite the jamming, it's nice to have a large food receptacle, which lately I've been using mostly to open from the top and grab a handful of kibble to place in the bowl. I've found a small round grain-free food (from Chewy, sorry it wasn't available on Amazon) that the cats seem to enjoy and works better than the versions I'd used previously. I didn't change the cats food to accommidate this feeder, they just didn't like their food after the manufacturer changed their recipe. So, hopefully with some tweaking and the new smaller sized rounter kibble, I'll get this working a bit better.Giving 4 for making some of my life easier and providing a semi-useful product at a good price. It's possible the only weakness in this feeder is the thin plastic used to dispense the food; I'd imagine a thicker material would stay in place without bending and work flawlessly. I'd love to see a fix available for the feeder if it becomes available. Thank you!

Waste of Money
Took a month to arrive and it does not work!!!! First meal came out OK but not the second or third. I have tried resetting it many times but only the first meal will come out. No good as I can't use it to feed my puppy three meals a day! Sent it back as faulty, the seller said they would refund the product and my postage, cost €31 to post back and it was refused by the seller, so it cost me even more money. Avoid this product and this seller!
