Skimming Blade with Extension Handle

I am no sheetrockman, but I have done my share of home repairs. I am restoring my childhood home, and replacing all sheetrock. I really don't like sheetrock at all, but I will say these have been great for me. Like I said I am no pro, but these produce excellent results. Add a bag of muddskip to your mud before use and it makes it even better. I have thinned it down, rolled it on with a textured roller, and screeted it off. In my opinion well worth the money for a home owner.

These Skimming blades are amazing. I've finished drywall for many years and find that these tools have a very short learning curve and great results can be achieved very quickly without a lot of effort. I especially like having taper and butt joints the require very very little sanding. I thought these skimmers are so good the should be stored away properly so my main reason for this order was that the came with a hard shell case to keep them in. The case is ok. It dose house all of the parts but could be a bit bigger because the blade to pole attachment handle must be put together for use but barely fits in the case when it time to pack up. For this to fit the case top must be forced close and then the flimsy case clips are strained to keep it closed. I do really like this skimming blade set. But having said that; the black plastic end caps for the skimming blades could fit better without falling off when removing the pole attachment handle and the storage case size and flimsy case clips keep me from giving this skimming set an almost deserving 5 stars

Once every 20 years I have to deal with drywall work. I usually start by calling a local firm for a price to hang and tape. After realizing should have been a dry wall installer I set out on a DIY project. If you hate working with a small knife, this product is the answer. You can apply a liberal amount of mud and spread evenly over the entire surface. On this project I hung 2x10 sheets laterally and had a 18"' patch in the center. With this blade you can easily span the two tape seams and spread mud across the joints. My biggest trouble spot was self inflicted . The sheetrock was hung on hand hewn 2x4's from the 1800's. I needed to do a better job creating an even surface for hanging the sheetrock. Using a 42" blade on an uneven wall can cause you to carve a line in the mud on the opposite side of the high spot you are dragging. After a few tries and alternating pressure, I was able to get a good result. If you have less then square walls, this tool can really help. Carry/storage case is great. Pay attention to how you unpack. Or even snap a photo so you can put back together for storage blades are sturdy and don't slide during use. I had no issues with bending the blade. Cleanup was easy too. I recommend washing all three handles before use. I had some color transfer to some mud on my trial pieces. After washing and wiping down, that didn't happen again.

works great to level out larger areas on walls or ceilings. comes with extra blades and a nice box to keep it in when ur done with the project until next time you need to bust it out

I do a lot of work on old houses, and while I am not trying to get to level five on my sheetrocking, these skimming blades help match disparate sheetrock levels. They are sturdy and well built, and they come in their own carrying case. Note that the screw for the extension handle was missing and I had to go to home Depot to get a replacement. This was no big deal as I'm there a lot, but the lack of attention to detail and making up the shipment was disappointing. I didn't count off on the score because I still haven't used the extension.

If you like to play in mud your going to love this

Seems good but it’s hard to mount handle bracket and blades pop off from too much pressure
