Making our lives easier....
I will start with a disclaimer: We have cameras on our porch so we do not really need a door bell with video. We just need to be able to talk to the person who rings the bell but we could not find anything like that. Also, we do not want the doorbell to work through our cell phones. We just need to be able to talk to the person who rang the bell. REVIEW: We have a chronically ill family member living with us. She has been sicker than normal this year and was ordered on bed rest and had multiple surgeries and a long recovery. This also required a lot of time in bed. We have done everything we can to make her self sufficient and comfortable. But we failed to realize how much of a problem the doorbell can be to someone who has to be in bed. So we set out to eliminate this for her. She is not left alone all the time, but it seems that when she was, that's when the door bell rang. It left her feeling very upset. She could see the person on the cameras, but she could not communicate with them. When we found these phones it seemed like a perfect solution to our problem. Not only was the doorbell no longer a problem, we could use them as a intercom from her room to anyone else in the house. We ordered them and they arrived well packaged and on time. I read the instructions and we set the system up. The whole process took no longer than an hour! From the doorbell to plugging in the phones to programming them, one hour - max. We are so happy with this purchase! The video is not perfect as others have said, but we don't really need that. The sound is amazing and it is easy to hear the person on the porch and they can hear us. The doorbell in your house will ring then the phone will make a door bell sound. You pick up the phone and it says, "doorbell ringing - incoming video." There are options to talk or to ignoreor mute yourself. You decide at that point. This is also an option when the phone rings. You can "silence" the ringing! We love that feature. If you mute, then you can listen to the person on the porch and they can't hear you. The phone itself is very intuitive and ergonomically pleasing for little hands and those who are not as strong as they used to be! The panel on the phone has wall paper background that you can changed or omit. There is one button voice mail option. The phone does keep a recording of all who have rang your doorbell too. It is just so easy to use in every way. I am a person who doesn't like to learn new electronics all the time and I found it easy to learn. The battery did run out fast on the phone the first day, but since then - it has been conditioned to last longer. If you program the phone with the caller ID of the name of the caller - the phone will announce who is calling. And I thought I liked our old phones! The only advice I would give is to buy the pack with the door bell and three phones. We ended up buying a separate phone because two handsets were not enough for us. The single handset was very easy to set up. You just put the phone on the home base and it programs itself in 30 seconds! Again, we are not using this as a security system and we use a home phone line. I realize this will not work for everyone, but it is perfect for our needs and well worth the money and time to install it. Now we are better prepared for bed rest than we were before.

I goud give 4 stars, but see why I gave 5.
I love innovative technologies and after a long research I found this VTech set with Doorbell included. In fact it has such amount of features that sometimes make me confused, but I know it's a question of time to be more familiar with all the resources. Why 5 stars? I should give 4 stars because of the bad quality of the doorbell camera, it's really terrible and you can only see a "ghost" with this ridiculous IR illuminator, but.. I solved it by using a dry contact available to light up the main door light. I leave on a house made entirely by concrete and bricks, with generally cut any weak signal. That's why I gave 5 stars, for my surprise, I can have my remote station on the second floor with several barriers between the doorbell and the remote and keep receiving a perfect signal including the video. Pros. - Super strong signal, can pass through brick walls, concrete floors, etc. - A huge amount of cool features (Pager, Internal Phone, Locate-me, Speak who is calling, Live view of front door, etc) - Really beautiful design - Can be found at complete darkness place due a feature to leave the main screen on with low light - Battery works up to 4 days with no use - Store a picture for ALL usage of Doorbell - Can have two doorbells - Speaker is loud enough to a meeting with many people in a round table Cons. - Only this freak camera with about 240x120 resolution could be better, also the image is compressed to get worst

I think this is a great package. Living in a large house
Overall, I think this is a great package. Living in a large house, you cant always hear the doorbell upstairs, and we could never hear someone knocking at the garage door. Since I was due for a new phone system anyway, I decided to give it a chance. Sure, the camera is not great quality, but you can usually make out who is at the door. And the fact that it snaps a picture when the doorbell is rung is a great bonus. I had some issues adjusting the cameras to aim where I needed them to aim .. required a few shims here and there, but it worked out well in the end. I love the fact that all the phones ring when the doorbell is pressed. Being that I put in 2 doorbells however, if I dont check the phone, I dont know which doorbell was rung. Would be nice if I could change the doorbell chime for each doorbell ... not sure this can be done or not for the price it works great. my biggest issue is the speakerphone, which apparently transmits alot of echo (as I am told from the other end). Since I need a speakerphone for work, this becomes a problem. Particularly moreso since it does not take a headset either .. at least I cant find a jack ... at least with a headset you would have some better control of quality.

No soporta una distancia directa de 20 metros entre camara y base, mala calidad de imagen. Lo único rescatable es el teléfono inalámbrico

I Bought the vtech set as as replacement for the broken handset. I have been using two doorbells, two wireless camersa and other 10 wireless handsets to cover the whole house since 10 years. I’m happy with it. Highly recommended for everyone to try something like the vetch products. I’m facing a problem that the handsets are out of range? Is there any code to reset the handsets from the handset keypads?

Bought this phone to replace an aged cordless handset. After reading the lowest ratings on this phone, I decided to take a chance and bought it. I live in a small 3 bedroom one level home. I have the base sitting about 25 feet from the front door. The system works great! I can see and speak to anyone at the door. I can even watch streaming sound and video on the handset. The second base is in my bedroom about 100 feet from the other base and the front door. The second base/handset works just as well. Installation was as easy as drilling a hole in my wall and mounting the camera at the front door. I have a power outlet in a perfect spot right at the door to plug in the camera. I also installed the AA batteries that came with it. The picture quality isn't HD or even in the same ballpark, however it serves its purpose. You can easily see and hear who is outside your front door. It has saved me many trips to the front door to let my kids friends know they arent here and are out playing. My wife and I love the walkie talkie feature on the handsets. With a push of a button you can talk to the other handset. Handset has built in EQ to help with the sound when speaking on speaker phone and a number of other customizable features like ringtones and wall paper.Handset battery life is amazing. My wife insists on forgetting to hang them up and one handset was left off the base for 3 days and still has a full battery! So far everything works great and I am very satisfied.. Maybe in the future Vtech will upgrade the camera or add more features. After an extensive 4 day search I could find nothing else like this system other than a couple of wifi based doorbell systems that cost 2-300 dollars and could only operate from an app based service on your smart phone or tablet. You also have to subscribe to the service and pay a monthly fee. So this system fit the bill, with the home phone features we were wanting this doorbell system was an added bonus. The price is a little more than I would normally pay for a cordless house phone ( I was wanting something in the 40-50$ range) but I wanted something with more lasting quality. I am happy I bought it and use it several times daily.

Buen sonido, alcance y recepción solo la nitidez de la cámara no es la mejor

The telephone and audio intercom works fine as expected but the initial image from the camera appears washed out, almost b/w and the infrared (low light) image is completely overexposed. Fortunately we have an overhead light that comes on with a motion sensor in the foyer where the camera is installed so I have put a piece of black electrical tape over the low light bulbs to improve the image quality. Have not yet installed the AC power source as there is no convenient outlet nearby. That may improve the image quality. No video monitoring is available without the AC power source but video-intercom works on batteries. Also, the camera has to be mounted almost at waist level to get a proper image even though the joystick adjustment lever on the back is set to aim the camera as low as possible. Caused a few extra holes in the door jamb before getting it right. Would recommend using double sided tape to position the camera/bell prior to final mounting. Numbers on the keypad could be bigger for seniors with failing eyesight specially for speed dialing.
