They work very well for test circuits. Can get into much tighter spaces than regular mini-hooks. I actually bought more once I tried first set.

this style - with the leads sticking out on the sides- is ideal, much better than the clips that have the wire sticking out from the top, there you have no room to put your thumb. Also, much better to get this type that has wire connections on BOTH sides of the clip, first, it feels more balanced, than clips with wire on one side only, and you can have one wire connecting to some circuitry, and the other connecting to a voltmeter or scope, it gives you an instant "Y" adaptor.

I'm giving these 4 stars rather than 5 but the correct value is somewhere between. The only negative finding is they aren't very durable the clips are maybe a little too thing and can lose their hooks which need to be rebent before the clip will grip. Just to be clear, the spring force with any addition tension from the wires can cause the curved hook to straighten. One of the nice features is the square socket for the female leads to slide into, for me this is a much better option than available on the other clips. While these are bigger, and heavier than the other options, these are very easy to attach the female lead socket. These would not work well for fine SMD leads but they work well for larger DIP packages and test points. I will be getting more!

If you do not have the leads, buy a kit with them as the pin is smaller than most female pin receptacles and the size is not specified to allow you to make a match with the lead socket.

These tools are very well made and I have used them often to test my projects. The price was great and they work as intended.
