I gave this 4 stars because I haven’t had a chance to put it to work yet, but it seems to be well made. It’s very heavy and mounted very securely. Ran smooth without a load, we’ll see how it performs once I put it to real work.

Was talking so much crap to a buddy of mine who bought a cheaper type winch for his truck and this happened the first time that I used this winch that took hours for me to put on my 2015 Chevy Silverado.Rated at 12,000 pounds went to pull a tree that was already down out of my yard and it snapped the twine clean in half.Felt humiliated not sure what rough country has for a return policy but it being Labor Day weekend I can order you sure you they won’t answer my phone call nor will they probably return it.

This winch feels solidly built. Everything works, although I haven’t used it to its fullest potential yet. Considering the first thing I noticed when it arrived was that it’s made in China and I had some real concerns.I had more concern when I noticed the load rating label. The first three capacities listed are in pounds and the fourth one listed is in Kilograms. Pics attached.I immediately contacted RC to let them know of the issue and was told they’d pass the information on.They need another layer of quality control before releasing to the public.I’m willing to give it an honest try before commenting on the overall quality. I’ll give it 4 stars unless it proves me wrong in the field.UPDATE: I initially bought this to use on a winch cradle and decided the cradle was more trouble than it’s worth and wanted it bumper mounted. If you want to mount the 12,000 lb winch in an Iron Cross brand bumper for a ‘16-‘18 Silverado, the first thing you need is a relocation kit for the solenoid.

Have yet to fully test out under load. Just ran it playing so far. Looks great. Nice price. Fast speed. Happy so far.

Very nice looking winch. I have only used it once so far to pull a fence post and it did it without a hiccup! Easy install!
