What's the difference between doubanjiang and Koran soybean paste?

Doubanjiang is made from broad (aka horse) beans, chili pepper and salt. Korean soybean paste AKA as Doenjiang is made from soybeans and salt. Doubanjiang is what you want if you're cooking Schiuan food. You want Doenjang for Korean cooking. They are completely different products and one is not a substitute for the other. Amazon's choice for Pixian bean paste is the one recommend by Fushisa Dunlop in Land of Plenty and the Sichuan recipe blog themalaproject(at)com. Most Doenjiang pastes are pretty similar.

Does this product contain wheat?

Unfortunately there isn't a list of ingredients anywhere on this product- not on the outside packaging, and not on the two individually-wrapped packets.

I am on a sodium restricted diet. Can anyone tell me the sodium content of this.

At about 7000 mg sodium per Tbsp, it does not seem to be well suited for a sodium restricted diet.

Are there preservatives in this broad bean paste?

My paste came in two sealed plastic bags, enclosed in another bag. The outer bag had a label reading as follows: SOEOS Sichuan Pixian Broad Bean Paste, Pixian Doubanjiang Chili Paste, Hong You Dou Ban with red chili oil, soybean paste.
