Continuing the legacy of the NRSV, the NRSVue aims to faithfully serve the church in personal spiritual formation, in the liturgy, and in the academy. Features: The text of the New Revised Standard Version, Updated Edition (66-book Protestant canon), vetted by an ecumenical group of Christian scholars Double-column format Presentation page Satin ribbon marker Historic Creeds Three year reading plan Exquisite and durable Leathersoft cover Smyth-sewn binding lies flat when open Exclusive Zondervan NRSVue Comfort Print typeface Print Size: 8.5-point Review: Enjoyable to read and to touch and it is not bulky - I love this Bible! The blue color is so pretty. The cover feels so soft to the touch and I enjoy reading it and carrying it. I like the simplicity, the readability, its slimness, and the font used. It also contains some helpful information at the end, including a reading plan, some maps, the words to some Creeds, Parables, Perspectives, Prayers, and Promises. I've added photos of the Table of Contents and a sample page. Sometimes, I just enjoy reading scripture from different Bibles so that the passages do not become so overfamiliar. As a word girl, I like comparing different versions and I find that I continue to learn. I also tend to get distracted by lots of footnotes (my other favorite Bible is HUGE) and I just wanted God's Word, not so much commentary. I wanted to try the New Revised Standard Version, as my pastor often uses it. Of course, I did a little research. In the continuum of Bible translations, this one seems to fall in the middle: it is not a word-for-word translation or a paraphrase. It is a thought-for-thought translation. This is the updated edition, NRSVue. The Preface says "the NRSVue extends the New Revised Standard Version's purpose to deliver an accurate, readable, up-to-date, and inclusive version of the Bible" and that "the NRSV has been called the most accurate of the English-language translations, based on the available manuscript evidence, textual analysis, and philological understanding". I read many different Bibles weekly; however, for now, I am really enjoying this one. I am no Bible scholar. These are just my thoughts and opinions. Review: It's not missing scriptures (NSAB) - The New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition (NRSVue) of The Holy Bible is, without a doubt, a monumental achievement in biblical translation and scholarship. As a long-time devout Christian of scripture, I can confidently say that this edition deserves every one of its five stars, offering an unparalleled reading experience that is both deeply enriching and remarkably accessible. What sets the NRSVue apart is its unwavering commitment to accuracy and fidelity to the original texts. Building upon the highly respected NRSV, this updated edition incorporates the latest advancements in textual criticism and linguistic understanding. The result is a translation that meticulously reflects the nuances and complexities of the ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, while remaining remarkably clear and understandable for contemporary readers. This balance between scholarly rigor and modern readability is a rare and precious commodity. The language itself flows beautifully, maintaining the dignity and poetic resonance of the biblical narratives while shedding archaic phrasing that might obscure meaning for today's audience. This makes it an ideal choice for both personal devotion and academic study. Whether you are delving into the profound theological insights of the prophets, the timeless wisdom of the Psalms, or the transformative message of the Gospels, the NRSVue allows the sacred text to speak with fresh power and clarity. Furthermore, the NRSVue's inclusive language is a significant and welcome improvement, ensuring that the text is truly accessible and representative for all readers. This thoughtful approach enhances the sense of connection and relevance, inviting a broader audience to engage deeply with the scriptures. The New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition is more than just a Bible; it is a meticulously crafted tool for spiritual growth, intellectual exploration, and profound encounter with the divine. Its commitment to scholarly excellence, its beautiful prose, and its contemporary relevance make it an indispensable resource for anyone seeking to understand and live by the Holy Word. It is, quite simply, an outstanding translation that will serve generations to come.

Translation That Speaks to Harsh Biblical Truths
Great translation that focuses on God’s Word instead of saying a “watered down” version of what I’d prefer to hear. This is a translation that does not gloss over the Bible’s hard parts

Print is a little small
I love the Bible and the feel of the cover. My only wish was that the print would be a little larger. All in all, I like the version because it is easy to read and understand.

Cheap NRSVue Bible
The Bible has a nice cover, but soft. The paper is so thin that I'm afraid to turn the pages, let alone take any notes. If there was a larger selection of NRSVue Bibles at this price, I would probably return it, but for now it is probably the best version for this price.

Beautiful and easy to handle
Absolutely beautiful bible. The cover is soft and easy to handle, and the font inside is very easy to read. I would recommend buying tabs to put on the different books to make your life easier. The ribbon to keep your page is a nice touch. For a gift bible, it's great quality. It does not contain the Apocrypha however, for anyone who is looking for it.
