Smells exactly like cedar. No doubt about it that you smell that subtle, crisp woodsy scent. The quality is great, which I expected. It burns clean, has a slight sweetness to it, nothing overwhelming. No chemical scents, more organic.

The smell of cedar takes me back to my childhood in Louisiana where my grandmother had a big, walk-in, cedar-lined closet. As kids, we’d hangout on the floor of her closet because the smell was just wrapped us up. HEM Cedar Incense sticks take me back to that closet. The ingredients provide a genuine cedar aroma that fills my office. The sticks are long and burn at a gentle rate - not too quickly - but with 120 sticks in the box, it’s easy for me to light another one to keep the aroma (and childhood memories) going .

I like to burn a small fire out on our patio when I'm having coffee in the morning or relaxing in the evening. However, when it's 90 degrees I don't want a fire, but still want the aroma of burning wood, charcoal, woodsey smellish. Does this smell like Cedar, yeah not to me, but it is one of my favorite incenses for out on the patio and it is plenty cheap that I don't think twice about burning it. To be sure this is not Fred Sol's, which smells like cedar, but it isn't a buck a stick either, burns 20 - 30 minutes and does have a woodsey smellish.

It smells rather good, just not the kind of smell I was hoping for. I was aiming for a nice relaxing campire smell but i got a smell similar to walking into a skate shop. Burns decently long but can occasionally burn weird and leave long stringy ash

I decided to burn incense again after not using it for over 5 plus years. I think these particular pieces didn't last longer or smell better than others I have used in the past. It is suggested it would last longer and smell stronger. That is why I did not rate it well. The price is reasonable for the number of pieces, and is why I purchased the various scents. I used 5 sticks 1-each from the 4 different packages that arrived in the past 2 days and 1 from some old stock I have had for a number of years. They did not seem better or worse than some others I have had that are several years old. They all burned at the same rate. The old stock burned exactly the same as the new stuff. I happen to pick up a vertical incense box to burn the pieces inside. I feel the incense is not any more special than any other pieces I picked up at a 2nd hand store. Would I buy any of these products again? Probably I will just because of the cost and amount of pieces. I like the scents I picked, and it changed up the atmosphere inside the home here, since I am dealing with my mother who is 91 and has severe dementia. The air in the home here tends to become aromatic. The incense helps counteract those scents if you burn several sticks over a period of several hours. Since I was burning incense already, this supply does about the same as the old stuff I currently have and are exhausting. It seems to be about the same and possibly a little less aromatic. It helps instead of always spraying some sort of Febreze etc.

I searched for YEARS to find a candle that smells like a wood burning fireplace. I grew up with cold weather but live where it's hot as an adult and miss the smell of burning wood. I'm a candle person so incense was my last try. Maybe these incense sticks smell like cedar burning, I've never burned cedar. I just know they don't smell like a cedar chest. However, I'm pleasantly surprised they smell very similar to a wood burning fire.

To be completely frank, I don't know what burning cedar smells like, but some people said it smelled like a campfire burning, so that was good enough for me to try it. I lit the first one and I was very pleased with the scent. Every time I'd burn one, I'd get this feeling that I had smelled that scent before, but I just couldn't place it, then it hit me! It smells a lot like White Birch bark when it's burning! And since that is one of my favorite scents in the whole world, the Hem Cedar Incense sticks have become my favorite of all! If you can tell the scents of different firewood apart, then you know that White Birch has a slightly sweeter scent than other firewood, in a musky kind of way. I think Hem is a good quality product. I've burned at least a dozen sticks. It burns completely. I haven't timed how long they burn, but the scent was still lingering an hour after I lit one. I have never had one quit burning part way. Highly recommend.
