Image is sharper at a very close distance, but at that distance it does not cover the entire ceiling, the disc images are only partially projected, giving the impression of being incomplete. The only thing projected on the entire ceiling are the green stars from the laser but our eyes hurt when this is On. The picture and video are an example of how it looks on my ceiling when it is on top of the dresser. If you don’t mind having a partial view of the disc displayed and not full coverage then you will enjoy the images in a very good quality. I tried another projector with a wider range on my ceiling but the image is not as clear as this one. I will keep looking for the perfect one.

The image quality is nice, but it’s difficult to find extra discs. I hate that it turns off after 3 hours.

When properly adjusted, the northern hemisphere disc is great - installed it in my kids room to talk about astronomy and show him some of the things I try to take pictures of during those rare cloud-free nights. Overall, the value is great, it's surprisingly bright and sharp corner to corner when wiggling the lens 'just right'. The lens thread doesn't engage too tightly with the threads in the body of the projector, so there is more wiggle room than I'd like, but it's possible that the manufacturing tolerances are bad enough that they can't get away with a tighter fit. In either case, I wasn't sure if this would just be a crappy toy, but instead I kind of want one for my office now... The other discs are pretty cheesy and the imaging quality isn't as good as the northern hemisphere one - I suspect they are produced differently, as the NH one is a metallic 'mask', whereas the other discs look more like slide film.

I bought this for myself (an adult) looking for a cool galaxy projection to look at. I would say it’s pretty cool and calming to look at. The sea and dinosaur are a little silly but great if you have a kid. I think the galaxy ones are pretty cool and the whole reason i bought the projector. It’s pretty nice and the picture is ok. It doesn’t do anything super crazy but the projection rotates and there’s a laser that has green light. The laser is pretty cool and fills the room pretty nicely. I would say buy it if you think you’ll get a lot of use out of it but if you don’t plan on using it a lot i think there are cheaper options that could be just as fun. Finding a cool galaxy projector can be hard but this one is decent but nothing spectacular.

This unit is overpriced for what it does and dont know where the clear pictures come from. It comes with 4 small slides you install in side of unit. The moon seems to be the most clear. Your ceiling must be smooth and no popcorn ceiling 8 feet or less. I have vaulted ceilings. It it must be pitch black with no TV on that gives off light. The HD they claim it of 6000 is simply not true. Perhaps 3 feet away on a movie theater film tarp. The focus adjustments is not deep enough for a super clear image I was looking for. The green stars do rotate which is nice but the stars are not bright. If you want bright stars get the astronaut projector. Overall I'm not impressed. Return
