Tech Support is Top Notch
We have a heat pump with AUX electric heat. After a $700 electric bill in Dec and a $1000 bill in Jan, I decided to trash our old Honeywell thermostat and try the Ecobee which promised better control over when the AUX heat kicked in. There were times with the Honeywell when the AUX would be running and it was in the upper 40's outside--no good.Installation was fairly easy with the Ecobee app providing clear next steps. After everything was running, I tried to find the "Thresholds" to fine tune when the AUX would run. Surprisingly, those did not show in the menu. I called tech support and talked with Pam. She was great! She walked me through the wiring configuration and found I did not set it up correctly for a system with AUX heat. She spent over 20 minutes on the phone with me, patiently walking through all the steps. She followed up the call with a detailed email summary of everything we discussed and changed. Unfortunately, the changes we made did not work as planned and I could not get any heat at all until I reverted the set-up to how I originally had it. As it was after hours, I responded to the email she sent and explained I was still having issues. Pam call me back the following day where we spent over 50 minutes on the phone trouble-shooting the problem. It turned out that the wiring for my unit was different than the standard and we were able to straighten that out, get everything connected to the correct terminals and thoroughly tested the configuration. Pam was extremely helpful in resolving the problem and a pleasure to work with. Everything seems to be running correctly now and I hope I can look forward to lower electric bills in the future!

Ecobee thermostat
I bought the echo bee thermostat in October. I needed some to hook it app and my nephew came in December to hook it up. After I got the thermostat hooked up, it worked for about 5 or 6 weeks.It's stop working on a Sunday night around 10 10 30.I called echo bee the next day I couldn't get through couldn't get through OK. So I hit my nephew come over and look at it and he said you get a call the furnace company because it seems to be something wrong with the furnace.I called call but I couldn't get appointment until wednesday that was on a Monday morning, In the temps were in the low 12° or negative degrees and I'm sitting here with noheat.so I did try to call echo be. And still no answer I was able to leave a call back number when they called back. I wasn't able to answer the phone right away so I called them back and for closed. I tried Tuesday morning and I didn't get ahold of anybody didn't get ahold of anybody.Thursday. I called again and I got finally got in the hold of somebody. I explained everything what was going on. I explained to them what was going on in in the meantime. I had got a thermostat from a friend and we hooked it up and my friends went right on and I had yet so obviously the problem was with. The thermostat not the furnace. I explained that all to the technic got my call that day.He was very helpful but needed to trouble shoot everything which. Was? The first. Tech? That I found. Got? A hold of on that monday they told me that it was the Furnace not the thermostat we troubleshooted any said that it was the furnace.so you get no resolution to that so another 2 days goes by while. I'm trying to get ahold of them and this Rep said I would have to get in hold them next time so they could trouble shoot the thermostat there was no screen on the thermostat to even figure out what was going on. I Couldn't get anything to work there was nothing you were able to do. So in the meantime he wanted to speak to my nephew who hooked it up the originally on.Am I nephew explained to him that? We had hooked up a new thermostat to it and it was working fine so it would be the ecobee thermostat that was not working.After talking to him for a few minutes he put me on a brief hold and said that he would be sending us out one for warranty purposes This was on a Thursday and the following Thursday which was a day ago? I got the thermostat. I've decided that with the poor customer service that I have gotten for this in the length of time I had to wait for a new thermostat,I could have frozen death. I'm don't want to continue using this product.I would like help and getting a return I will return the original one and the 1 that they sent for a replacement.Can you please help me with this matter? Thank you again for your help.

Easy Peasy
Ease of installation of the thermostat as well as ease of use and setting up the app was a piece of cake, allowing for a weekly schedule!

Both worked. One was sold as new but was used.
I ordered two new units, one for the house, one for the outbuilding. I received one cellophane wrapped, pristine new and one unwrapped, previously installed unit. Bad form Amazon, bad form. I installed the used unit, not noticing immediately the problem. Registration and start up was complicated by its previous life. Ecobee tech support helped walk me through returning it to factory specifications and starting all over. I contacted amazon and agreed to a partial refund instead of a return/enchange as I didn’t want to go through another installation process. The second unit was perfect, installation was easy. That was complicated a little by the lack of a c wire in the outbuilding furnace but a previous thermostat was equipped with a c wire work around that worked. Both units seem to be working properly.

Ecobee Extended Smart Thermostat - works great!
Our Ecobee Extended Smart Thermostat replaced a Honeywell/Resideo T9 that never worked properly or consistently. It would lose connectivity to our wi-fi and Honeywell’s own servers once a week, so we constantly had to physically pull it off the wall to reset it and re-program it. After six months of this and a fruitless six months of once-a-week calls to Honeywell/Resideo tech support, we finally gave up and installed the Ecobee Extended Smart thermostat. Installation was simple. Setup and configuration were easy and quick. It is accurate and has not once lost connectivity. Very responsive through the Ecobee app and well as Apple’s HomeKit and Siri.

I am a believer in Ecobee
This was a replacement for an Ecobee I have had for many years. I accidently knocked that one off the wall so I needed a replacement fast. Shipping was overnight... Installation was a breeze.... It was not a direct replacement setup as size etc was slightly off... but for a DIY it was very easy... Less than an hour... I recommend this product highly..
