Solid Everyday Relief for Tired Heels (Not Perfect, But Worth It)
I picked up the Dr. Scholl’s Heel Cushions with Massaging Gel mainly because I’m on my feet a lot and travel pretty frequently, so comfort matters more than anything. After using them across different shoes (sneakers, casual shoes, even one pair of dress shoes), I’ve got a pretty clear sense of what they do well—and where they fall short.First thing I noticed is the cushioning. It’s not subtle. The gel has a soft but slightly springy feel that actually absorbs impact when walking. On long days, especially when I’m moving through airports or walking around unfamiliar places, that extra shock absorption does make a difference. My heels don’t feel as “beaten up” by the end of the day.Installation is straightforward—just peel and stick. They stay in place reasonably well, though not perfectly. In shoes that get a lot of friction or heat, I did notice slight shifting over time, but nothing major. Here’s what stood out to me:**What works well:*** Noticeable reduction in heel pressure during long walks* Soft gel feel without being too squishy* Fits easily into most shoes without trimming* Helps extend comfort in older shoes that have lost cushioning**Where it could be better:*** Adhesive could be stronger for heavy use* Slightly raises the heel, which may feel odd at first* Not ideal for very tight shoes (can make them feel cramped)One thing I appreciate is that this isn’t trying to be a full insole replacement. It’s very targeted. If your main issue is heel discomfort—whether from standing, walking, or just worn-out shoe padding—this does the job. But if you’re expecting full-foot support or arch correction, this isn’t that product. In terms of real-world use, I found these especially helpful in:* Travel days with lots of walking* Older sneakers that had lost their bounce* Hard-soled shoes that don’t absorb impact wellThey didn’t completely eliminate discomfort, but they reduced it enough to notice. That’s probably the most honest way to describe it—this is improvement, not a miracle fix.Value for money is fair. They’re not expensive, and considering they can extend the usable life of a pair of shoes or make a long day more manageable, I’d say they justify the price. That said, they’re not ultra-durable. After a few weeks of heavy use, you may start thinking about replacing them.Overall, these heel cushions do what they claim reasonably well. They’re simple, effective, and easy to use. Just don’t expect them to solve every foot comfort issue.

Overall great product
I wear flat shoes—converses, to be exact. The pair I wear are my favorites and have been seeing heavy usage over the past year. I walk everywhere, and so eventually it can get trying on the feet and knees, especially. I bought these Dr. Scholl's cushions on a whim, thinking they would have very little effect, but to my surprise, they do indeed help with comfort and support. Without getting too winded, they let me feel like I'm not feeling too much of my heel when I walk. It feels natural when I have these in my shoes. They are unobtrusive and could easily have been fitted with the manufactured converses. If there is one criticism I'd make, it's that you have to make sure when you're about to wear your shoes that these cushions don't slide. Use your hands or a shoehorn and then put your foot in, or the cushion will slide forward. No cutting or modification is needed. I am a size 9.5, but my converses are a size 9, and still, with these cushions, they fit without issues.

Functional, durable and easy to open and cut!
I bought these heel cushions in February 2020 (for $6) along with Dr. Scholl’s “work” insoles (for $22) and together they held up decently for the next 8-9 months or until my work shoes fell apart. I had a full-time physically intensive job that involved constant bending, stretching, lifting, twisting and throwing anything from cardboard to metal and hazardous chemicals, and these insoles and heel cushions worked as advertised. Along with my tough-soled work shoes the cushions made standing, jumping, walking, running and sprinting on the concrete and metal flooring painless and similar to walking on wood or other softer surfaces. Granted my job itself required a baseline level of fitness which may have mitigated any discomfort anyway, but they helped even on the days when work would slow almost to a halt. The packaging was also easy to cut open and both cushions were easy to cut and fit to size, almost like cutting a thin stack of papers! Overall I recommend these insoles and cushions as a great introduction to shoe inserts that are comfortable, durable, long-lasting and well-fitting, and for that the “Dr. Scholl's HEEL CUSHIONS with Massaging Gel Advanced // All-Day Shock Absorption and Cushioning to Relieve Heel Discomfort (for Men's 8-13, also available for Women's 6-10)” get a respectable 4/5 stars!

Doesn't Stay
Provides support, but slides forward... Lowly recommended.

Finally, comfortable boots
Finally, boots are comfortable all day.I've been wearing iron rangers for 2 years straight almost every single day, and most days are pretty easy on my feet. But my heels inevitably feel sore by noon everyday because of how hard the soles of my boots are.I tried three different inserts of different kinds from different companies, and all of them just made it worse by having too much or too little arch support, or not adding any actual cushion in the heel, only more rigid support. After using these for a week, my feet feel so much better everyday. These would be better if they had some sort of self-adhesive to stick to the insole, but double sided tape should also work fine. Glue if you want something more permanent. But I cannot express how much of an improvement this is, the shock from walking on concrete all day is gone.

Decent
Needs to be thicker, at least for my shoes. Only reason I gave 4 stars.

DOES NOT DO THE JOB
Get a full sole with a gel heel. These are uncomfortable and annoying.

Does what it does, reduce pain and strain on heel
Bought these after recommendation from my doctor to get some heel cushion pads while recovering from Achilles Tendonipathy. Does what it should, reducing pain from absorbing the impact as you walked and your heel came down first, as well as reducing strain on the Achilles tendon on the back foot when you walked forward due to the reduced angle with slightly uplifted heel. I had it placed in between the shoe’s inner sole layer and the base of the shoe at the heel part and it seems to hold its place that way.
