Should you be able to see the circle on top of the dish?

I'm not sure I understand the question but with ceramic plates and dishes like this, hand made, they are imperfect. It's part of what makes them beautiful. If that's what you mean then yes. My plates have rings.

Do these posted chip easily??

Not one chip on any of the 12 plates I own for almost 2 years now, used daily and washed daily in dish washer, even used in microwave.
