Birkenstock Cork Sealant

Great sealant for the cork on your sandals. Have to reapply on occasion as it wears off over time but that is expected. Don't need to use alot at one time. A light coating works fine. Too bad I have to toss the rest of the tube because Birks are now causing me major knee and hip issues, even though they were the only shoes I could wear for years due to my plantar fasciitis. Now have to wear custom orthotics but I guess that's a blessing in disguise since now I have a much larger option for shoe choices. Don't grow old kids. Start yoga and meditation while you are younger and don't stop for years like I did. Regretting that decision now.

Apply to the side of your birken every 3-5 months, will make it last longer and looks better.

Great product. Protects the cork as advertised and seals existing cracks to make shoes look new.

The sealant seems to work and do its job adequately, but I found it just a little hard to use. The product initially comes out as a liquid, and is released so readily that it’s not hard to apply too much sealant or end up accidentally applying sealant to the leather upper or rubber sole of the sandal instead of the cork. This is particularly true because the top sponge where the product is released seems larger than it needs to be given that there isn’t that much cork surface area that needs to be sealed. Also, when the sealant dries on the leather upper or the sole, it looks slightly weird or sloppy. All said, however, just a minor irritant.

For the reviews that said this product was counterfeit or not original. The product I received was 100% legit and worked like the stuff from back in the day but easier to use than the lid with the wire and cotton ball attached to spread the gel. I have worn Birkenstocks for 30 years and know this stuff absolutely prolongs the life of your sandals.
