Product description QUALILUX DUSK TO DAWN LIGHT BULBS Dusk to Dawn Auto On/Off Featuring advanced photocell sensors, these light sensing bulbs are carefree to use. All you need to do is keep the power switch on and let them be. Rest assured, they will automatically illuminate at dusk and extinguish at dawn, adjusting to the surrounding brightness. Support Close Arrangement Thanks to QUALILUX's unique technology, these light sensing bulbs are able to distinguish between their own light and other sources of light, which means they can be closely arranged without interfering with each other. There are no distance requirements when arranging QUALILUX's light bulbs. Exclusive Energy-Saving Sensor With Qualilux's Exclusive Energy-Saving Smart Sensor, our LED lighting bulbs automatically reduce energy consumption by 50% after 6 hours of operation. The light bulb maintains 70% brightness for the rest of the night, considering that most people are asleep and require less light from midnight to dawn. Efficient - 12W bulb has output 1,000 lumen. 75W incandescent equivalent. - With a built-in advanced smart driver chip, the bulb will reduce energy consumption by 50% after working for 6 hours as most people are asleep and require less light. CRI>80Ra QUALILUX selects high quality LEDs with CRI>80. This allows the color of objects at night can be accurately displayed to what it looks in the natural light at daytime. The more realistic the color feedback, the more friendly it is to the eyes. Long Life Span - QUALILUX uses the LEDs which made with copper bracket and gold wire to ensure its stability and durability. - The pure aluminum cup radiator wrapped in plastic prevents the LED from getting too hot during operation. Can these bulbs be used in outdoor fixtures with frosted glass? QUALILUX Dusk-to-Dawn light sensing bulbs can work perfectly in outdoor fixtures with frosted glass because QUALILUX D2D bulbs can distinguish their own light from other lights based on QUALILUX unique D2D technology. Some Dusk-to-Dawn light bulbs cannot be used in such fixtures because the light reflected by frosted glass will trigger their Dusk-to-Dawn sensor to turn off the light. Would QUALILUX Dusk to Dawn light bulbs work in a canister type fixture? Yes, they would. QUALILUX Dusk to Dawn light bulbs has a built-in light sensor which is arranged with LED chips together. The angle it senses sunlight is wide as same as the light bulb emits light. But the light bulbs in canister fixture may light up earlier than using in other open light fixtures. Because canister light fixture will block out sunlight. Most of the light bulbs which has a sensing eye/hole on the body cannot use in the canister light fixture because such enclosed light fixture completely blocks the sensor to sense the sunlight. Why does QUALILUX set the power consumption of their Dusk to Dawn light bulbs to be reduced by half after working for 6 hours? No other brand has this function. People are asleep and require less light after an Outdoor Dusk to Dawn sensor light working for 6 hours. To be more friendly to our planet, QUALILUX set this function on their Dusk to Dawn light bulbs. Even so, the bulbs will keep around 70% brightness after working 6 hours. This still provide good security functions for your house. Why does my Dusk to Dawn light bulb blink? These bulbs are not dimmable. When it is used with a dimmer, it may blink. To use with dimmer, please select a Dusk to Dawn Dimmable light bulb. Warm Tips The other lights may turn off these bulbs at night. Do not use in strong light area. Review: Durable - Fine quality and very precise, it turns on and off as it should. Review: Work great, but be mindful of placement - I purchased these to use for our front and back porch lights, and overall, I am pretty happy with them! The only "issue" I've run into with them is on days when it is a bit overcast, the one I installed in the front porch light fixture will sometimes come on during the day. However, the globe that covers that bulb is a pretty heavily frosted glass globe from the 1930s, so this makes sense and I can't fault the bulb for that! The one on the back porch is in an open fixture, upside down in the center of our small back "porch" (it's really more of a landing/stoop at the top of a half set of stairs that leads to our back door, but I digress...) and that one has been working flawlessly, even on overcast days. Either way, these bulbs have been fulfilling their purpose and making life just a little easier because it's one less thing I have to think about/remember. I can feel safer knowing that our front and back of the house is lit up when it is dark, without having to make sure I've flipped the switch on for them every night and then off again every morning. I just flip the switches to on and let the sun (or lack thereof) guide them. Love it!

Great little porch light
I love that I don’t have to turn this on/off. In the winter it’s dark when I get home and since this comes on automatically at dusk, I no longer walk up to a dark house (since of course, I was the only one that turned the porch light on and off before). It doesn’t pay attention to time so DST doesn’t matter. Screw it in, turn it on, and forget about it. It’s also bright but not blinding. You can see but it doesn’t illuminate to the sidewalk. In fact, I switched it for a regular bulb for a minute and found that way too bright and switched back to this one. I will definitely purchase again when/if these die. I’m still on the first bulb and have been using it for at least a year.

Good purchase
The bulbs are a lot brighter than expected, which is very nice. They seem to be doing a good job at not attracting bugs.

A little dim but works well to avoid bugs
My front patio has a light right next to the main entrance of the house. Below that light are some nice cushioned chairs. Unfortunately, the previous light bulb I was using (a white CFL bulb) attracted bugs from far and wide. Hundreds if not thousands of bugs would appear on my patio night after night. And in the morning, I didn't want to sit on those cushions which were covered with bug debris. So I finally got this light bulb which promises to reduce bug attraction. I was skeptical, because reviews of other bulbs just like it are not spectacular. But it turned out that this bulb worked perfectly. And I do mean perfectly. At many points during the night, I would pop my head out there and look all around for bugs. Not even one showed up. The night previous to this with the old bulb I was using, I saw hundreds of bugs. So this is a big win here. I might finally be able to use my nice cushioned chairs. The only complaint I'll have is that the bulb does feel like it's a little on the dim side. I'd say it feels like a 40 watt equivalent bulb, rather than the 75 watt it advertises. But that's okay. I can still see everything on my patio just fine at night. It's not bad. I do wish it was slightly more bright, but then again that might increase the bug attraction. I can't vouch for longevity and weather endurance just yet as I've just started using it. If it dies in the next year or two, I'll update my review to knock a star or two off. Until then, I highly recommend this product.

Bright & perfect Dusk to Done cues
These DtoD bug lights are excellent. Even inside an Amber glass porch light, the bulbs come on just at dusk and off at dawn. Also exceptionally bright for a programmed bug light. Please see Disk turn on photos.

They work perfect
I can’t believe how good these things actually work and they are far brighter than I thought they were going to be. I will 100% be buying these lights again.

Worked well until in didn't.
Value for money: This product was purchased as a two-pack for just under $10.00. The bulbs are advertised with a lifespan of up to 25,000 hours. The first bulb I used lasted two years before it started to flicker. I am also using a similar bulb manufactured by SYLVANIA. That bulb is six months older and continues to work perfectly. The SYLVANIA bulb cost $10.00 for a single bulb. There is a definite convenience in having the light turn on automatically, which this bulb does very well. However, I am disappointed that the bulb only lasted a fraction of the estimated lifespan. Assuming the second bulb lasts as long as the first. I'd consider this a reasonable (not great) value.
