I received the wire in a neatly packed box which was packed with care using oiled plastic wrap on each of the five spools to prevent damage or corrosion. It does have a slight odor to it, but it's normal for industrial lubricants and should not cause concern. The wire is definitely copper with a durable colored coating that will, as with any colored wire, scratch off if handled too roughly. As a Wire Weaver with over a decade of experience in wire craft, I have every confidence in the quality of this wire and that it will hold up to most wire craft projects. It is somewhere between dead soft and half hard, giving it great flexibility and endurance. I ordered the black wire and I'm happy with the deep color and variety of give sizes for a very reasonable price. I was also pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of a pair of pliers that are the same quality of others I've ordered in the past and continue to use today. Over all, I will definitely be ordering this product again and cannot wait to try out the other color options available.

I will use it but its not great for jewelry but will be fine for garden stuff. Its quite stiff I dodnt realize that when I ordered it but. It will have a use. I also do not like the coating on it for use with jewelry making. Though it may be okay for rings

This wire is not true copper. Like others that have purchased this package I thought I was getting a good deal. Don’t waste your money if you are making jewelry. In the picture, this wire was used for the two ear hooks on the left. After trying to polish it the ear wire on the top came out looking like aluminum. The wire on the bottom Has not been buffed. The earring on the right is made of true copper, has been buffed and polished. That’s what copper wire should look like. Now I have five rolls I can’t do anything with and hope to sell it.
