The media could not be loaded.  Pleasantly surprised at how high quality this was. It’s heavy in your hand and feels solid. I love that it comes with a piece of glass to test it on- passed with flying colors (and it was fun). Plus it comes with a seatbelt cutter. Every car should have one in case of emergencies.

Nobody ever wants to need one of these tools, but they would be great to have if you're ever in a car accident and the doors won't open. I gave it only 3 stars on the "lightweight" rating because it's got some mass which will make it easier to break the windows in the car. I did own a plastic device which I sent back immediately because there was no way it would have had enough force to actually break a window. It's important to remember that you only try to break the side windows, not the windshield, because of the different way the glass is made. There is a blade which should work to cut through the seatbelt but we can only take the manufacturer's word that it will actually work, since we don't have extra seatbelts lying around to test it on. For that purpose I keep a fold-up multi-tool in my car which has a serrated blade that can cut anything. But if you don't want to keep an extra tool around, you can hope this hammer's blade will work.

This is the first hammer I've had in my car that I could *actually* imagine cracking a window with, just because it's got a little more heft to it than the plastic ones. After seeing one too many scary car-plunges in movies and TV shows... I'm glad to have this in my car even if it's just to ease my mind. On that note, I also like that I could feasibily defend myself with this if I really had to... it's heavy enough to harm and quite sharp at the end. I've been recommending it to my friends, too.

Amazing little product. It is a sturdy window breaker with a little bit of weight to it. This isn’t one of your typical cheap $5 window breakers with no power behind them. This is small enough to fit in your center console or door pocket, I have mine in a small medical kit Velcro’d to my driver door.A really nice touch is the company sending tempered glass (same thickness and type as your typical car window) with your breaker. This provides the buyer with the opportunity to test out the product.

I bought a cheaper safety hammer and when I tested it , I bent the tip. Do yourself and your the assurance that when this is needed it will work. This came with a peice of glass to try and it worked perfectly. This is a real quality tool I have one In each of my vehicles

This hammer works perfectly, and it was really fun breaking the practice piece of glass that comes with the hammer. My friends also had a go and they thought that it was fun as well. I feel more secure in my car now, and I feel good with the knowledge that I could break a window to free someone else that was trapped.Smart idea to keep in your car, fun to try.*Really great idea that they had to include glass with the piece to test if it works, but a few years later and the seatbelt cutter on the back has somehow fallen off and the metal tip has fallen into the handle. Great design, just not durable.

We are excited about this glass breaker and Seatbelt cutter. The device feels very sturdy but it’s not too heavy. The handle is easy to hold onto and got a good grip. We have not tried to use the seatbelt cutter but it looks very sharp and we have no doubt it will work. The sharp point for the glass break portion looks very effective. It is not too long so it is easy to store in the car in the glove compartment for easy access in an emergency. We recommend this item.

Not quite sure why they have a Light Weight rating, compared to a sledge hammer I'd say so but lightweight isn't something I'd associate with tackling a window during an emergency. It has a good weight, nice balance in the hand and expected sharp point for the job.
