If you’re practicing your grip, it is very very good fit to the original gun if you’re packing a draw it’s not as heavy as a real firearm but I like this product I could practice my grip all the time left-handed or right handed I rated five stars

I ordered this replica, because a customer has ordered a custom leather holster to fit his XD Tactical, and I need a gun to mold from. In the past, I have used Ring's blue guns, and have never had an ASP red gun. The material is slightly different from what Ring's uses. both seem to be some sort of resin (a urethane if I had to guess), but ASP's material is slightly more porous and the mold quality is not quite on par with Ring's ( a few minor imperfections, tiny pits and bubbles left over from the molding process ). It is however, still an excellent piece and will work perfectly for my application -- or I would imagine any training needs.

I have a Taser X26c and a new holster (Blackhawk duty holster for X26, which also works with the X26c, also from Amazon) for personal protection. The Red Training Gun is specifically for the Taser X26 but same size as X26c, (except for weight) and works with the X26c. It is well made, hard rubber and resembles the Taser. This has been very helpful to be able to practice with so I can become familiar with the feel and draw of the Taser and holster without any incidents. I carry the holster & Taser around the house and practice throughout the day and will be prepared, knowledgeable and ready if an incident arises. A bit pricey but I feel it is worth it. Highly Recommended!

It works as intended but a toy gun from the dollar tree will serve the same purpose. Its over priced.

If you are in to serious training ASP makes the right tool. The edges on the .45 I got were a little sharp to the hand but that was easy to fix. These fit any 1911 holster, are solid and weigh enough to feel like the original without the danger of someone mistaking a training weapon for the real thing.

There's no substitute for range time, but developing a consistent draw and presentation is critical to improving accuracy. You can do that with this Red trainer. No, it won't help you with reloading drills, and the safety and the trigger don't move, but if you get to the point where your motion is instinctive, then you will maximize the effectiveness of your time and ammo on the line. And of course, it's invaluable for training others, and you don't have to lock it up after each use. This is key if you have kids around. To summarize, if practicing is convenient, you do more of it. The grip of this trainer is probably better than you'll have on your real 1911, unless you have fine checkering on the grip.

The best gun ever

Gun is 1/8 longer then the real deal. The reason for the bad review is because this is not a red gun. It's some kind of disgusting abomination of a browny orange, the color is so bad in fact it kind of turns you away from wanting to use it. You know how some colors remind you of food or make you hungry? Well this reminds me of my little sisters dirty diapers :-(
