This is a collector's piece, and not recommended for anyone that's just looking for a cool toy. This is definitely overpriced for it's size, but is a great buy for fans of the Macross universe.Typical quality that is expected of the Hi-Metal R line. Very sturdy, and highly detailed. Lots of accessories, and a flawless transformation that was surprisingly pleasing. Not at all as complicated/stress-inducing as previous larger scale releases.Please do your research before you buy.

Got it for the love of the cartoon. Super detailed model already assembled with decals. Was on sale for $85 on prime day. Depending on your level of nostalgia, worth it in my book. Definitely not the most durable "toy", only some of the major hinges are metal, rest are all model grade plastic. Looks great!

This is the 1st time I've bought anything from the Hi-Metal R line. Be careful and do your research beforehand. I've watched reviews before on other Hi-Metal R figures so I knew what they were like when I got this.It is mostly plastic and some of the more high stressed joints are made of metal. However, there are still a few joints made of plastic. I had the plastic joint that connects the chest to the back while show signs of stress marks after the 1st transformation. Overall, it is pretty small but has a good amount of detail. Paint is good but there is a chance of it rubbing off during transformation.Gerwalk and Battroid mode are pretty posable. Fighter mode is pretty solid. Getting some pieces to snap to the right position can be a pain. I still have problems getting the legs to snap into the rudder piece. I probably won't transform it too much and just leave it in fighter mode.It's currently priced at $151 sold and shipped from Amazon. This feels more like a $80-100 figure. For $61 more, you could get the Tamashii Nations Worldwide Anniversary VF-25 which is mostly made of metal and is bigger. (Not a big fan of how the VF-25 looks like in Battroid looks though.)

Really surprised but the other reviews for this. First make sure you get a ruler out. For the price I expected it to be small and it was but I do feel like the pictures are misleading. I own several rare Macross figures and have paid $100 to $500 depending on quality including a rare original Yamatoyama edition. What I am trying to say is I have some decent experience with these including buying one while I was in Japan.While the price is great the figure you get is made.of very cheap plastic that looks and feels well cheap. It comes with many accessories which is a huge plus and it does help hide the cheap look but I just couldn't stand looking at it. I am returning today.

It's mostly cheap looking plastic, no metal in exterior only in some joints. But it's just a few so calling it metal is very misleading. I don't think it's terrible quality (transforms fine), but it's definitely built with the lowest-end materials. Just dish out a bit more and get a DX.

Maravillosa figura articulada, con muy buenos acabados (la pintura), detalles (relieves), y la resistencia suficiente para una figura de acción transformable (tres transformaciones). El manual está 100% en japonés pero hoy en día ese no es para anda un problema al utilizar una App que traduzca empleando la cámara del teléfono móvil. Fue bastante rápido hacer las transformaciones. Ampliamente recomendable para fans de Macross.

小さくても変形ができ、一部差し替えですが変形工程が難しくないので気軽に扱えます。

すごく良い!!!先に欠点を上げておくと･ほかのレビューを見るに、不良品(塗装ズレやタンポミス)が多い？バンダイに交換してもらう手間があるかも・バトロイド時、膝の可動域が狭い(ギリ90度に届かない？膝立ちは不可)　引き出し機構はあるけれど、可動域はあがらないんかーい・価格が高い!・合金部分の関節は渋みがあって安心感がある一方、　プラ部分とテンションが違いすぎてブンドドにはちょっと不便良い点・造形、プロポーションが素晴らしい!!　虹色に輝くキャノピーや密なスジ彫り等CGの情報量を見事に再現。　ZERO系なら汚しをいれたいところですが、スミ入れだけでも超かっこよくなります。　小さいですが造形もカッチリでかなり引き締まってます。・ガウォーク形態の可動域が大きい!!　バトロイドでは渋い膝ですが、逆関節状態での自由度は前後左右かなり高い笑　肩の可動も広い。　ガウォークがあまりにもかっこいいZERO系なので、この形態に力を入れたというなら　とても正しい判断です。楽しすぎる…・不器用にやさしい!　Hi-MTALシリーズ、差し替え多いんですよね。　賛否ある点かもしれないんですが、個人的にはこれすごく嬉しいです。　というか、この小さいシリーズでキャノピー跳ね上げやアンテナ伸縮を再現されても、　変形過程でぶっ壊す気しかしないんですよね。　実際VF-HI-METALの中古市場は故障品ばかりです。　特にVF-0は隅々までギミックの塊です、変形かなりシビアなんですよね。　ところが差し替え部分をあらかじめ外しつつ変形させると、かなり難易度が下がります。　VF-0をこんなストレスレスで何度も変形して遊べると思ってなかった…不器用にはすごく嬉しい!!　完全変形の超合金、差し替えで安価にハイプロポーションのHI-METALという棲み分けは　すごく良いと思っています。　ちなみに変形は一見複雑そうですが、一度やったら覚えます。・ファイター形態のカッチリ感が素敵　バルキリーって変形機構の都合上可動部位が多いので、クリアランス設計をミスると　全部を閉じてまとめるファイター形態がまとまらなくてダルくなりがちなのですが、　このフェニックスはカッチリまとまってかなりスタイリッシュです。　過去に発売された高価格帯の完全変形フェニックス郡に比べても、　ずいぶんシュッと引き締まっていて好みです。　ここは個人の好みによるのでしょうか、でも再現度という意味ではこれが一番な気がします。・付属の台座が大変良い!!　最近は初回限定にしか台座を付けない超合金と違いHI-METALはちゃんと台座をつけてくれます。　バルキリーには必須でしょ…　この台座、ブラウンの渋いカラーにフォッカーのマーキングもしてあってかなりカッコイイです。　特にこのフェニックスのガウォークは浮かせて飾ると再現度爆上がりですからね、最高です…というわけで不満点が少ないかなり良い出来でした。これは推せます!他レビューを見ていると「10年以上前の超合金に近い値段だよ…」とか「合金をもっと増やしてくれ」みたいな話が多いのですが、さすがに超合金とHi-METALのブランドコンセプトの違いくらいは理解してから購入したほうが良いです。ちなみに「複合マテリアル」でコスト調整をして超合金よりも安価に変形・ギミックを再現するシリーズです。高級感が必須なのであれば頑張ってアルカディアを買ったほうが満足度は高そうです。翼やミサイルの着脱など基本的にはいつものHI-METALなので扱いやすくて良いです。VF-0s、発売が嬉しかった反面、変形のストレスで一度変形させただけでもう触らなくなる気がして怖かったのですが、強度・構造に比較的安心感がある作りで大変気に入りました…ZERO系のシリーズ展開に期待感が高まります。はやく他の機体も出してくれ…!!
