One of the best singles from Light at the End of the World
"Sunday Girl" is the second single from Erasure's Light at the End of the World album. The artwork for this single is absolutely gorgeous; in fact, all the cover artwork from the Light at the End of the World era is some of the best Erasure cover art I've seen in several years. The disc opens with "Sunday Girl [Radio Mix]." This is basically just a slightly more uptempo mix of the original album version. There is also "Sunday Girl [Extended 12" Mix]," which is basically an extended version of the Radio Mix; this is definitely a straight-ahead, "old school" extended mix. There are other remixes of "Sunday Girl" on the disc: the Riffs & Rays Club Edit and the Riffs & Rays Dub Edit. The Club Edit utilizes a "harder" bassline and attempts to turn "Sunday Girl" into a more "dance-friendly" song; the string sounds that appear in the mix help to give the mix a kind of 1970's "disco" feel to it. The Dub Edit is a "dub version" of the Club Edit; the only vocals that appear in the track are the chorus. While there may not be a lot of vocal in the mix, it still beats the "hack and slash" remixes that were so prominent during the mid-1990's. While the dub may be a little on the long side, it is a tolerable listen."Sunday Girl" also features a B-side called, "Take Me on a Highway." This is a midtempo song, and it's kind of reminiscent of Erasure's material from the late 1980's/early 1990's. While listening to it, I could easily hear it being included alongside the songs from the Wild! album. It's a good song, but it's easy to see why it ended up being relegated to a B-side; sonically, it just wouldn't have fit in with the rest of the material that appears on Light at the End of the World.Overall, "Sunday Girl" is a pretty decent single. If you're an Erasure fan, this is definitely worth getting.

Sunday Girl delivers
Erasure, never lets you down. The mixes here, are all solid, with different flavors to all of them. This being one of the stronger tracks off of the album, it is great to here them in top shape in the mixes!!

Good Second Single
3 1/2 Stars, really. A solid effort. Very Abba-esque. I loved it at first when the album came out, but it hasn't held up as well as I thought it would--just like "I Could Fall in Love With You." There are stronger songs on the album. Still, a catchy chorus (with thanks to Abba) and some disco effects make it a fun dance tune, and the remixes are nice. Good singing by Andy as always.

It grows on you fast and stays in your head (in a good way!)
I bought this mainly because I've been a long time Erasure fan. Well if you've also always liked their sound, you will be pleased with this one as it is the familiar but upbeat Erasure we've always been happy with... I mixed it into a set of songs (about 128 BPM) and found myself with the refrains in my head long after the song finished playing. The Riff Raff mix is perfect.

Great single from a cult band
Erasure have given to thier fans an incredible 2007: with a studio and live album, an EP and 2 amazing singles. Sunday Girl is the second single from the last studio album and it's a great danceable uptempo song like in their tradition. This maxi single even has a couple of remixes by Riffs & Rays (even if not their best mix of this track, the Radio Mix), the Extended Mix and a nice b-side like Take Me On Highway. If you love Erasure or 80's music, don't wait: buy it!

Erasure Singles are the best
Mixes and bonus track are great. Exactly what you'd expect from Erasure. You can't go wrong with Erasure unless it's that Union street CD junk.

Everything you love about Erasure
Bright tones and a happy beat cover a slightly dark and urban subject with a cynical twist. It is singable, danceable, and fun. It is everything I love about Erasure.

Fun new single
Move over Pet Shop Boys, Erasure prove that fun is what it's about! Sounding a tad bit like Abba, Sunday Girl is nostalgic in it's danceable approach to keeping dance music alive. Check it out!
