They work!
My feet have been aching for past few years. I work a lot on my feet and have to alternate FLAT shoes every day. If I’d wear same shoe 2 days in a row, I’d feel the aches and pains. In the mornings, my feet hurt to start the day…I did not think this trajectory was sustainable. I’m 57 years old and was starting to worry about long term pain in my feet if this was my current plight the past few years. Over the course of time, buying “support” shoes and inserts, massaging them and applying muscle cream only provided minimal relief. No longer have I been able to wear my beautiful pumps and heels because my feet hurt too bad. The bottoms of my feet felt tighter than what a normal foot felt like, so I began researching acupressure shoe options and came across these Byriver sandals. I’ve had them about 2-3 weeks, and in the beginning I could barely move a step or two. The instructions recommend standing in them few minutes a day, but I wanted results, so I walked around house (suffering) in them and wore them when I was on my feet cooking etc. They hurt like crazy those first days, and my feet were even sore after wearing, (kind of like the soreness your muscles get after a deep tissue massage), and I even got little bruises. After the first week, my left foot settled in, and the sandal was actually comfortable on that foot. The right foot however still hurt in the very center of the bottom of my foot (where my foot was the tightest). One day, I was out shopping without the sandals, of course, and that spot on the bottom of my right foot ached and itched, so as soon as I got home I put the sandals back on, and it was a “good hurt”. It’s now been about 3 weeks, and I hadn’t worn the sandals in about 4 days. I put them on tonight, fully expecting to be back to square one, but they are super comfortable on BOTH feet. I feel like I just improved a very important aspect of my health that could have become very debilitating as time went on. I am now recommending these sandals to everyone I know that have feet problems. Biggest thing to note is you have to stick with it. If they’re painful, it’s because your feet are jacked, and these sandals will help get them back to a healthy state. Also probably worth noting, I have never written a review…that’s how impressed I am with these sandals.

Love them
I love these. If you are used to being on your feet most of the day these won’t come across as painful. I put them on first thing in the morning while brushing my teeth and getting ready. It helps prep my feet for the day. They are also wonderful after a long day on my feet. At times my feet feel a bit more tender in them but I think it’s due to feet being exhausted. This is a great product, comes with five replacement pieces. I wear a women’s 9 and that is what I ordered and they fit great. The company even provides a little pamphlet on how to use them. If they hurt at first just stand on them for a minute. If you can’t do that I can’t imagine you’d be able to do any sort of acupressure type work.

Good but painful !
This review is first impressions. Just FYI —. These hurt! But the directions say you have to give them a chance. I haven’t owned them long but I will give it some time to see if I end up liking them. The directions also say to wear them for 15 min with socks at first. If you haven’t worn these before - Don’t think you can wear these walking around. For me it was way too painful. I am sitting at first using my arms on my thighs to create my own pressure instead of my full body weight. If you are used to these types of shoes you will like these for sure. They appear durable and come with extra parts if something breaks but it doesn’t seem like they will with normal use.

Amazing!
Some people say how painful these sandals are to them, maybe. Plantar Fascitis hurts something horrible. I put these on and I exchanged pain for barely uncomfortable. I love these. I couldn't walk without pain until I tried these on, now with these I hardly notice any pain. Initially they were somewhat uncomfortable but I was able to walk without again without limping. My daughter laughs when I'm about to enter a room because you can hear the click clack coming from down the hall as I approach. Ive been wearing them for 10 days. 15 minutes for first wear, oh heck no the first time i wore them for an hour. I also purchased sandals with an a support arch for when not wearing the acupressure sandals. My pain has noticeably diminished even without them. So yes they appear to have helped me. But I also use DMSO on the bottom of my feet and that seems to be very beneficial also. If you're not familiar with DMSO be sure to do your research. Everybody doesn't tolerate it the same. I use an 80/20 I got here on Amazon. I'm a flatfooted, over 60 man weighing in at 220lbs who spent half his life being a fitness trainer, less than 20 years in the military as a ground pounder and para trooper and competitive bodybuilder and generally a very competitive exercise enthusiast overall, until they installed titanium in my spine. Don't read this and be discouraged if your not like me. I only mention it because my lifestyle inflicted heavy damage and few people subject themselves as I did, so that means there is hope. Yep I'm a disabled Vet. The VA wont give me those really comfortable shoes because I'm not diabetic, but I'm not complaining. I refuse to settle for feet that don't cooperate with my lifestyle. Ive got lots of living to do, I need my feet for that. And if you've read my review this far, here is sage advice I learned in the service... take care of your feet and they will take care of you!

They're supposed to hurt. That's the point!
Decades ago I had plantar fasciitis. Doc tried injections and offered surgery when the injections didn't help. I'm not a fan of surgery, so instead I opted to go for intense high-pressure foot massages at the local Chinese healer's shop. It worked. It hasn't bothered me for about 20 years...until recently. How much does that intense massage hurt? The massage therapist kept saying no pain/no gain as I gritted my teeth to get through it while simultaneously wanting to pull my feet out of his hands. But it was worth it. My foot healed as a result and I had no issues for decades. These are acupressure sandals, meaning they will press on all the acupressure points in your feet. Yes, it HURTS, especially at the start. That is exactly the point of buying them. They will not only stimulate all acupressure points in the feet (which affect the rest of the body as well), they'll break up adhesions which is likely part of what is causing your foot pain. The design of these is great as long as you get the size to match your feet so it hits the right spots. My foot is a 6.5 to 7 wide. I bought the XS size and it's a perfect fit. From heel to toe, my feet are perfectly aligned with the pressure points. I just got them a few days ago so I'm starting out in socks and with them on at my desk while I work. Not much pressure that way so not painful as I sit, but I notice when I switch back to slippers, my feet feel better already. The first day I could not bear the pain to even stand up in them. Keep in mind at the start I have an inflamed area in the bottom and back of my heel. I also strained the Achilles tendon in that foot a few years back, so apparently both issues decided to flare up recently. By day 2 I could stand on the sandals. It's day 3 and I can now walk around my desk in them. This is GOOD. This is a sign the sandals are working. Over time the pain will lessen as the adhesions break up and the inflamed tendons calm down. So if you're new to this sort of thing, just give it some time and start gently. You don't have to go through agonizing pain by trying to walk around in them on the first day. Take it slow. Notice the difference when you take them off and put on comfy slippers. Look up images of a foot reflexology chart to see what areas of the feet align with what parts of the body. Reflexology is much gentler than the kind of massage therapy I chose so if you wanted to try something as far as treatment, I'd start with that. I simple internet search near your zip code will probably net you a few reflexology contacts. These are well made and come with a few extra bumps in the package I guess in case any come loose/get lost. The pressure points are spring loaded so as you move your foot they adjust to keep connection with the bottom of your foot. Definitely keepers! It's only day 3 and I'm not noticing plantar fasciitis pain. It had been aching for a week or so before I decided on opting for these instead of starting massages again. I'm very happy with these sandals and highly recommend them. If you think of them as a "medical" treatment rather than something to wear to the grocery store, the temporary pain makes more sense. Good luck in your journey to foot health!

Still hurting my feet after more than a month!
I have peripheral neuropathy and I was hoping that these slippers would help. They actually do help a little bit, but I do mean a LITTLE bit. I used them as recommended by the manufacturer for about three weeks and didn’t think that I noticed much difference so I decided to return them and get my money back. I had only worn them in the house so they were spotless. But it took about a week for me to get around to actually returning them and in that week I noticed that my feet were getting worse again. So I canceled the return and started using the slippers again. The tingling and burning is still in my feet despite wearing them now everywhere I go, including outside. But the thing that bothers me the most is that in the two weeks that I’ve been wearing them now, after canceling the return, the soles of my feet still hurt a LOT. I know that the directions say that it will hurt a little while but even after I’ve had the slippers off for maybe an hour or so my heels are still hurting like they’ve been bruised. Now that the window has closed to return them, I will continue to wear them and hopefully they will do more good than harm. If I do notice a sizable improvement, I will come back and raise my star rating. Right now I’m keeping it at three because I’m kind of straddling the fence on how I feel about them.

No pain no gain #feethealth
I love these slippers and I absolutely love it. I have been battling Plantar Fasciitis for a couple months now. I did the Lacrosse ball and bought so many different shoes. The Hoka Bondi 9 was the only thing that helped me in the beginning of my healing journey. After going down a rabbit hole and realizing it’s best to fix the issue instead of putting a band aid to relief the pain. Anyways what I have learned is you need good feet health. That includes toes all the way up to your hip. I’ve invested in alot of gadgets to help me heal back and these slippers are definitely a must in my feet health and overall healing journey. I have hardwood floors so I do not have the different texture for my feet health. These are great because of the balls and the pressure points it puts on my feet. Yes it will hurt that is what it’s suppose to do. It triggers your feet’s pressure points. It sends a signal thru your whole body. I especially wear it in the morning to wake up my feet sensory and sends my leg to wake up. I’ll put it back in thru out the days when I am just walking around the house. I don’t wear it all day.

Good, just a little too big
I really like these slippers. They hurt at first, but you adapt to them over time if you wear them for a few minutes each day (I suggest wearing them with socks.) I can really feel the increased blood flow in my feet after taking them off. However the XS is just a little bit too big for me. When I align my toes with the front of the slipper, I have about 3cm of extra space behind my heel (one whole row of the massage bumps.) So my feet aren't perfectly aligned with the acupressure chart. I'm a US women's size 5, so I think I'd need an XXS or XXXS size to be made.

Firm indoor reflexology slippers
I’ve been looking for reflexology slippers that can fit my small feet US5.5. These were the only ones that fit my size. They’re most expensive than say AliExpress but again they’re the only ones I could find in my size. I’m happy with the quality, I hope it’s durable. You wear these indoors, not outdoors. Read the instructions! Don’t wear them in wet areas either. I’ve worn these around the house while doing housework and stuff. Yes, they’re uncomfortable, even painful for some. That’s normal!! That’s what reflexology is about. The pain will tell you where your body is unwell. These brown ones aren’t meant to be “comfortable” slippers, they give you firm reflexology action. If you want comfortable, buy the slippers that give a gentle massage.

Does a great job
Firstly let me say this is is not for the faint of heart 😂😂 I bought these after a recommendation from my aunt after I had sprained my ankle. The first time wearing it felt like I was stepping on pebbles. Eventually after a few days I got used to wearing it and it was helping with the pain. It is straight forward and easy to use. It definitely takes some getting used to but it helped me in my ankle pain and healing process and every now and then I wear it just to get my blood flowing as I noticed it helped me sleep as well. Just need to wear it up to 20 mins when worn and weird thing is after a while it will feel like you are wearing normal sliders. Try it for yourself and see. It isn't noisy when walking around and it is surprisingly strong material. In terms of size it fits well and the velcro function helps to adjust so it's nice and snug. Takes some getting used to but I would highly recommend.

I hold a lot of tension in my feet and often try to go for reflexology - this is a great alternative that I can use everyday to relieve my tension! Yes, it is painful first wear but that’s the point and you slowly get use to it.
