CARTER F-A-S-T Fence Alignment Tool

Instantly improved and increased my productivity using my bandsaw. Simple and quick way to align my fence.

I contemplated buying a less expensive set of setup blocks but after working a little with my Magfence II I decided to bite the bullet and pay a little more for the Carter FAST blocks for the magnet and blade indentation features. If they work for Alex Snodgrass then it has to be OK, right? Alex is right, it's a great product. It took me all of a few seconds to set up my fence on my old Craftsman band saw and slice a perfect 1/8 inch slab off the side of a 2X4. My only complaint is that it didn't come in a beautifully lacquered wooden box but hey, I can make one of those for them. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

I used this on my bandsaw. It is quick and a very good length to adjust the fence to it. Very happy with this product. If you have a bandsaw, this is a tool you should consider. I also used it as a router guage. Carter Tools is a quality company that is a good fit for Amazon.

It would be nice if the magnets were strong enough to hold it just above the bandsaw table, especially on the smaller saw blades.FAST- 3/16” and above, it slides down onto the table, making it difficult to get an accurate measurement.This tool actually works nicely for multiple tools in the shop. The magnets came out of 3of them. Scuffed the magnet and the inside of the recess, and epoxied. Seems to be working fine now. Overall, it’s works pretty good.

I have two other sets of measuring bars and this one by far is the most versatile of the group. It's length of 6" is ideal for spanning the hole in a router table when setting the depth of cut with the bit (my others fell short literally) and also because of it's length is creates a more accurate degree of reference point for your setup. At the bandsaw that back cut out for the teeth is perfect when used with the magnet and the length is also perfect for when you are using it at the table saw when projecting the teeth to the fence.

This simple tool allows you to quickly align the bandsaw blade to the fence . I was able to correct the slight drift in my blade. It is much easier to use than a machinist square since it accommodates the teeth of the blade so a true square is much easier to set. it is also great for quickly setting distances from the blade by stacking them together.

Didn’t need them as they don’t line up my saw blade to my fence any better than sticking a ruler in. Does add convenience setting a standard thickness. Box is really bad. Foam cut through on both sides so no matter how you slide the foam tray out, they fall through. Need a better box and would rate a 4 just because they’re one of the tools you really don’t need. But the box design, good grief.
