Mastrad Silicone Spoon, Black

As another reviewer mentioned, this spoon would be even better if it were just another inch longer. But it works really well in small to medium -sized pans. The core gives it strength while the edges are soft enough to ensure that my fairly expensive Calphalon pans don't get scratched. I'm right-handed, and the strange looking handle turns out to feel wonderful in my hand. I was really surprised by how comfortable it feels, and now wonder why other spoons aren't made with a handle like this. The bowl is a little shallow for spooning soup out of the pan, but works quite well for thicker liquids and veggies.

I picked up my spoon for the first time and was surprised at how heavy and solid it felt. I than picked up a wooden spoon that we had been using and it seemed the Orka was almost double the weight. It also is shaped so that when you are scooping up something your thumb has a place to go for extra support. I have left the spoon against the pot and it did not melt the silicone which is a plus.The only negative thing is that I would prefer it to be at least an inch longer. As I use the spoon mostly in medium to large pots my had gets a little too close for comfort to the hot pot.With that being said I would take the Orka Silicone over a dozen wood spoons.

The silicone spoon serves a very basic function but does so well! It is indeed, in my experience, very heat resistant, stain resistant (duh, it's black), and all in all very functional. The material is soft but the structure of the spoon is solid so it won't scratch nonstick cookware but will still dose out hefty, thick mashed potatoes just fine. A caveat; the handle of the spoon is designed differently in that it bears a curve, when holding the device upward, to the right. I can see how it might affect usage with a left handed individual, however as I, personally, am right handed, it serves very well for me.Five stars.

I like cooking stir fry with this spoon. It's slightly flexible but still sturdy enough to be able to mix anything that you are cooking. So far it doesn't seem to melt if you leave it resting on the edge of a hot pan. It doesn't get hot so you don't have to worry about burning yourself. I think this would be a cool utensil to have in your kitchen.

i was looking for spoon to replace my old nylon spoons. could ont fond any until i got a orka spoon in a discount store. when i tried to find more i cound not find any. so i looked up orka on computer and found this one. would not trade any of the other spoons on the market for this one. when i need to replace or add to my utensils i will get this product.

I LOVE this spoon. After reading all the comments, especially the "gritty feel", wasn't sure what to expect. But this spoon is perfect. It is curved so south-paws beware. Fell in love with it the first time I used it.

Soft so no scratching my nonstick and a deeper spoon for serving from the pot. It is soft so it bends easy, not for lifting a pot roast but I like it and it fits my need.

Works great, would love a longer version as well, and no worries re non-stick pan damage like prior nylon tools.

I bought this spoon to replace my existingng stainless steel one (because I got new pots and pans and wanted to be more gentle on them). I love it so much I went back and bought a second one for myself and two for my mom. Great product! Sturdy and I love that it is all one piece, no crevices for food particles to get trapped in.
