Love overture filaments, their silks have amazing quality and colours, print so well and I have not had a single issue. The shine is amazing, even with stock settings, but use their recommended ones and its superb.

I love this filament. Prints almost flawlessly, can mess around with as many settings as you like but it still churns out great looking prints. Looks amazing. One of my faves and trusted filaments.

I have a a Flashforge Adventurer 3. Love this machine after printing a spool holder over a year ago to upgrade it from 500g to the 1kg spools.Only PLA filament i have ever had issues was with a single dark wood filament that just burnt and blocked the nozzle. Yes had to tweak a few other settings for PLA. And yes also had to fiddle more to get PETG to print nearly well. So back to this filament, Loaded it up stuck with the normal PLA settings. And OMG what a mess. Bad bed adhesion, layering, bubbling Stepper knock. Tried to dial it in. But despite my best efforts, results were no better.What was all going on? So what is different from my other PLA prints? I have experience and solve issues, can't solve this one. So never used this brand before. First conclusion. Bad filament, it was cheap, no wonder! Well no, there was another difference. For me this was the first roll of filament that came on carboard roll. Yay i can sleep at night knowing my old used plastic spools can rest in hell. My new cardboard one is going to save the planet. Sorry i digress . Well long story short. In my case the 1KG adapter for my Flashforge allows the side of the spool to rub against the housing of the printer. No problem when it's plastic against plastic. But cardboard against plastic depending on the position of the filament on the reel. Can tension and slacken the filament. And with the issue with the weak stepper motor on a Adventurer 3. This was enough to completely show all the different signs of a poor filament. So once i figured this out and printed a plastic insert for the cardboard spool. This stuff prints amazing. Hope it was worth reading this review to then end.

The file filament from overture was great. I was printing a mask face which required a lot of supports. It copied well and the mask looked amazing at the end of the print. I did find it quite brittle and when printing the higher levels of organic supports, it did snap... Luckily though it didn't affect the print too much! Overall, great experience. Printed at 212 degrees with a 0.4mm nozzle.

As an Ender 3 S1 Plus user, I generally prefer to avoid writing negative reviews. However, my experience with Overture's Gold Silk PLA has unfortunately led me to share my challenges. While I understand that filament performance can be influenced by various factors, I encountered significant difficulties in achieving successful prints with this particular spool. My standard practice with any new filament is to print a temperature tower to identify the optimal printing temperature. With this Gold Silk PLA, the temperature tower required four attempts: The first attempt resulted in a significant "bird's nest" failure. The subsequent two attempts (second and third), even after drying the filament overnight in my Sunlu Filament dryer, ended with the extruder stripping the filament and a failure to extrude. The fourth attempt finally produced a complete tower. However, I observed minimal difference in print quality across the temperature range of 230°C to 210°C. Below 210°C, significant stringing became apparent. Following the temperature tower, I attempted to print some flexi octopuses for my granddaughter and nieces. These prints coincided with my third attempt at the temperature tower, and unfortunately, I experienced the same issue of filament failing to extrude, even after changing the nozzle. Based on these initial experiences, I am hesitant to purchase this filament again. While I acknowledge that my specific setup and environmental conditions could play a role, the consistent extrusion issues and lack of significant temperature sensitivity in the tower test were concerning. I would be genuinely interested in understanding if others have experienced similar challenges with this specific Gold Silk PLA formulation or if there might be specific considerations or best practices for printing with it that I am currently unaware of.

Print quality is great. Had no problems or clogging. It is a very light green, almost a glowing colour. Printed a fidget and unlike with a lot of filaments there was no issue releasing the fidget wheels. Great if you want to print some bright silky designs.

Great filament, printed easily, lovely shine
