QED Classic 79 Strand Speaker Cable White 5m Pack (R)

QED 79 Strand has been around for donkeys for a reason. It works, and works well. Great value cable but more importantly it sounds clear, open and transparent. Some reviews state that it hasn't got clear channel identification. It has! One channel is ribbed the other is not, simple, effective! It was purchased for a second system and the 5m length (cit in to 1.5m lengths) was plenty for my needs and I'm very pleased with the purchase.

When it comes to speaker cable, there is a very big choice available. You can go cheap and cheerful using bell wire or something more chunky, expensive and professional looking, but there's lots of middle ground too. Bell wire is a no-no especially if you're running it over long lengths. You'd be amazed by the loss of sound quality using this stuff. I can speak from experience. For the beginner 79 stand core is a great place to start. I bought 5mtrs to run 2.5mtr lengths to a micro system and speakers. If I needed longer then I would go for a larger core type cables, it's also reasonably priced. So my recommendation is: 79 strand for beginners and short distance cable runs. Bell wire is for the bin.

Bought this to bi-wire the tweeters on a new pair of speakers, quite impressed to be honest. Improving over time as they"burn in" a very acceptable cable for the price point.

If you are on the market for some good quality speaker cables for your setup, but dont want to spend a small fortune these are some I would recommend. Used with my q acoustics 2050i floorstanding speakers and marantz amp, these cables produced a nice clean and crisp sound with great bass reproduction. Overall the build quality seems really good for the price tag, the cables are quite thick and the copper inside is dense and strong which makes wiring up a setup a dream.
