I've used this cleaner several times already in my apartment and have to say that I'm pretty impressed. I've lived here for several years and only cleaned the carpet a couple of times, using my landlord's huge, heavy commercial carpet cleaner machine, so the carpet is very dirty, even though I vacuum at least twice a week due to having two cats. The PowerScrub has been getting out a LOT of dirt that I didn't even know was there. It's very good at sucking up the water, too. The carpet dried quite fast. Here are some points to remember. 1.) If it has been a long time since you cleaned your carpet, you will have to go over it several times. People don't realize how dirty carpeting gets (one of several reasons why I hate it), so they think it'll be like in the videos where there is a pristine, clean streak after one pass. Those carpets are only dirty on the surface, not deeply stained from years of people walking on it and pets throwing up and shedding on it. (Or it's just flat-out fakery, which plenty of advertisers engage in.) Some of the really stained areas still look dirty--although not as bad as they were--despite going over them three times; but then, I have cheap carpeting that probably just doesn't clean up very well. 2.) Spot-clean any obvious stains first. This will make the job a bit easier. The PowerScrub comes with attachments and a bag for storing them. You can even clean your upholstery while you have the hose attached (although I haven't tried this, myself, since I don't have upholstered furniture). 3.) The tanks for both the clean and dirty water hold about a gallon each. This is plenty for my small apartment, but if you're doing large rooms, plan on emptying the dirty water more often. Empty and rinse it well before putting it away. You don't want that dirt sitting for very long and getting stinky. 4.) Take your time and be patient. You are NOT going to get instant results, especially if it has been a long time between cleanings. To spray the carpet, you hold the trigger while pushing forward. Release the trigger and pull back to suck the dirty water back up. I prefer to hold the trigger, completely spray a small area (about 4 feet square), and then extract the water. I have to go over the area a few times to make sure it's all extracted, but it does work. 5.) How fast your carpet dries will depend on the density of the fibers. I have cheap, ugly apartment carpeting that doesn't have a dense pile, so it completely dries in 30-45 minutes. If you have a better-quality carpeting, it might take longer. 6.) The machine is pretty heavy when it has water in it, so I don't think you'll be able to use it on stairs, unless it's a short flight of steps and the hose reaches all the way up. You might be able to do the bottom steps first, empty the tanks, carry it up, fill it at the top, and use the hose the rest of the way down. It would be a bit of work, but might be doable. Or just get a separate, smaller machine for use on stairs. 7.) It is fairly easy to maneuver, despite being rather heavy. In a really tight space, you will have to move furniture around or out of the room entirely. 8.) For those wondering, this machine makes less noise than my vacuum cleaner. My cats aren't even scared of it!

If I could give 10 stars I would!! I purchased the paws claws powerscrub xl and I'm extremely happy with it. I have light colored carpet and multiple pets. This beast cleaned stains the professional cleaners missed. The tanks are so easy to remove and big enough to finish a good size room with fussing with emptying and refilling. The brushes just pop out to cIean and easily click back in. The only drawback is i wish the cord was a little longer. I would definitely recommend this machine.

I am obsessed!! I have tried the grocery store rentals, the little green machine by Bissell, and sprays with scrubbing. This is by far the closest thing to professional. And it’s not bulky or hard to put together. My carpets are so clean even with an old dog. I’m so happy!

Wow! Absolutely terrible. Worst vacuum I’ve ever used. Bought twice. First time arrived broken, second time while using, the water will spray from the hose connection. Poor connection from soap, container, hose. Noting snaps into place. Just loosely fits with tabs and isn’t secure. Poor quality. Made of cheap plastic. Not worth the money.

I have three dogs and two kids, and I highly recommend this cleaner. It works wonderfully and does a great job sucking up dirty water, which helps the carpets dry quickly. I do clean the machine after every use. The parts come off easily so they can be cleaned thoroughly. The cord is long, and both the clean water and dirty water tanks are large, so I don’t have to stop often to refill or empty them. The machine is heavy, which is to be expected, but worth noting if moving it around might be difficult for you. My only complaint is that I wish the dirty water tank had a dedicated drain hole with a rubber stopper. Without one, emptying the tank can cause water to spill and make a small mess.
