How far of a step down is this from the Xelento?

The xelento is an unfair comparison, xelento is geared towards the audiophile community for someone like me but it’s premium price for sure. A more comparable option would be the soul byrds. If you are an audiophile like I am hold on to your money for the 2nd gen of the Xelento.

Any audible delay with video apps like Youtube on iPhone?

I use these headphones with both my iphone and Android devices and haven't experienced any audio delay when watching YouTube or any other apps

How well do these work for phone calls - can the other person hear you clearly? And is there a lot of wind and background noise they can hear?

Don't buy this ..worst earphone I tried ..even a dollar store earphone would be better than this.
