and the bright silver paint came off leaving behind a dull, medium gray color
First a disclosure that we purchased this paint from Home Depot for a normal, fair price -- not the ridiculous price listed for Prime. This paint was applied and about 2-3 weeks later, we wiped it to clean the surface, and the bright silver paint came off leaving behind a dull, medium gray color. Home Depot gave us a store credit. I called Rust-Oleum customer service to explain what happened and asked why? They were not surprised the paint came off. I asked how their product management could ever agree to release a product like this. They said this paint was designed for small projects, like table center pieces. I asked if these center pieces would ever need cleaning or dusting. They just repeated the answer they gave me. Have you ever heard anything so insane?
