As advertised
Easy to use at first I places the peppers whole and it did not work, then I cut them in three and walla in less than a minute. This is a game changer for me I hate cutting up onions etc. Easy to clean up. Be careful with the blades. Once again great product little work.

Nice for the price
Works great for a hand-operated gizmo. I needed something to occasionally finely chop carrots, etc. and it fit the bill perfectly. Easy to use, easy to clean.

This is one of the greatest kitchen gadgets ever. But.
Sometimes the pull string gets stuck, kind of like a lawn mower. You may or may not have to take it apart. There's a little groove that you can slip a small Flathead screwdriver and to pry it apart if it ever gets stuck. It's simple, chops really well, and easy to clean. Just be careful when handling the blades, they are literally razor sharp. It can process 4 cups so it's great for quick recipes. Makes really good homemade salsa.

Salad-lover's dream: Makes veggie chopping quick and easy + simple cleanup
I eat a lot of salads but don't like chopping. This food chopper has been the perfect solution. I love it so much, I have one at home and one at work. Here's what makes it great: 1) It's simple. It has 3 parts, requires no electricity, and it's easy to use. 2) It's efficient. You pull the cord a few times, and your veggies are beautifully chopped with very little time and effort. 3) Clean-up is a breeze. I don't recommend the dishwasher, although maybe it would be okay. I just wash out the bowl and top, rinse off the blade component, and let them dry. (Warning! Watch the blades! They're sharp, which is what you want for veggies, not so much for fingers.) 4) If you want to use the bowl part for storage, the manufacturer includes a well-fitted plastic lid. One of the things I'd wondered about was if the pull cord would break. I have been using my choppers almost daily for months, and they're still working great. I highly recommend the 4 cup. You can see mine pictured with the carrot and red bell pepper. I think the 2 cup would be way too small. Of course, get what works for you! Y’all need this
I wish that I could chop onions or carrots, or really anything as beautifully as the chefs do on TV. I cannot. But this little device certainly does! I would recommend this to anyone who needs to chop apples for a salad or wants to make guacamole and can use this for the avocado, etc. It’s very easy to use an incredibly easy to clean. You just pull the handle like you’re starting a lawnmower pretty gently, and it works like magic.

How to keep the lid sanitized.
I have two Vinipiak food choppers. One I purchased, the second was a gift. Seeing debris in my sink I intentionally shook my chopper to see if the scum-like material coming out of the drain holes were in fact coming out of the chopper. They were. I have rinsed and drained the chopper over and over again, and the scum continues coming out. How do we sanitize the chopper as rinsing it off, of course has water enter in it. My roommate wants to throw them away, and said she’d never use them again. She is the primary user of the choppers. Please let me know if you will replace the lids, and how to sanitize them after use. Thank you

love this little chopper...
I use this little chopper when I'm lazy or when I need really really finely chopped onions. It keeps everything in one place instead of splattered all over the sink. Love that I can choose the size of the dice...a few pulls is a rough chop...10 pulls a fine dice...20+ pulls is liquified onion =) I find that I eventually need to replace them because the plastic will crack from wear and tear. I tend to smack it on the counter since the food will stick to the sides away from the blades. This is my 3rd one... I broke the plastic on my first and I have 2 sizes depending on the size of the job. Highly recommended.
