Best case scenario...this power supply is "luck of the draw". Contrary to the other positive reviews (which seem a little fishy...more on that later) I just received one of these units and it heats up so hot it is literally too hot to touch after just a few moments. It feels like you could fry an egg on this thing...or use it as a space heater in the winter time! I'd be afraid of it starting a contact fire if left on a carpet for too long. Even worse is the fact that while it works ok while navigating the 360 OS, it will NOT work for more than a few minutes when playing a game. After 5-15 minutes (it seems variable) it will cause the system to shut down and display the dreaded 3 Red Rings AKA "Red Rings of Death". Thankfully this is not a permanent death situation as the system can be physically turned off and then back on. The 3 Red Rings became synonymous with dying/dead 360s, but that actual "error" function is to indicate a "General Hardware Failure" which may or may not be fatal to the unit. In this case it seems the power supply is the culprit and is heating up so much that it might be throwing off stable voltage/wattage to the 360 which is causing it to shut down. Unfortunately, this problem occurs every single time when trying to play games, so this power supply is useless (and potentially a fire hazard).If I give the seller the benefit of the doubt (and believe the rather dubious reviews which all read like they were written by the same person), it looks like best case scenario is I just got a lemon. Hey, it happens. But, if you plan on buying one these units you should be aware that the "reviews" here seem a little weird...and that the unit I received is a piece of junk. So, buyer beware. After I return this one for a refund I won't be buying another. I already ordered a new OEM unit direct from Microsoft for only $2 more. No more knock-offs with zero quality control for me.

*UPDATE - I could never contact the manufacturer/seller (they refused to answer my emails) to warranty out this item. Amazon actually did it for me even after their 1 month return window. OrtzGamez is crap and buy this from someone else. It carries a 1 yr warranty but good luck getting them to honor it. Thank you Amazon but blank you OrtzGamez.Well it worked at first but the Xbox360 that was donated to me didn't, so the AC Adpater only got used for less than 1hr's worth of time. 2 months later I bought a working Xbox, which needed an AC adapter, wouldn't ya know it... this one doesn't work anymore for reasons unknown. It doesn't light up anymore, and it's compatible with the Xbox. To troubleshoot I used it on the Xbox it DID work with that was giving the RRoD and it won't power that one on anymore. How crappy does the item have to be that it ceases to function at all while having never been in use?And I'm pretty sure it's too late to return the damned thing. After the money spent I might as well have just bought a new 360 or a ONE. ...or better yet PS4...

Saved Christmas for my 8 year-old son. Purchased a refurbished Xbox 360 from game stop because we are just diving into the gaming world with him. We could not understand why the system kept shutting down until my nephew came and told us about the red circle of death. Oh just what I wanted to hear with my sons eyes filling with tears holding on to his batarang controller...Feverishly looked on Amazon for a replacement Power Adapter and found OrtzGames which sent us the green light for fun - thank god and thank you, nice green and yellow so far and a happy 8 year old playing Lego Dimensions. Thanks also for describing that this is for the original Xbox 360 and not the slim, etc. just what we needed, just in time.

The adapter that arrived did not work at all, not only that, but the quality was beyond shoddy. From first opening the box and pulling out the adapter things we shaking and jiggling inside the adapter making lots of noise. I was very wary of even plugging it in. I seriously doubt ANY quality control was done on this product. Compared to the Xbox original unit this unit was VERY light weight, which had me concerned as well. When I plugged it in, nothing, no power to the unit and the light on the adapter did not even power on. This is not at all a quality replacement for an Xbox360 power supply and for sure is not the BEST replacement as the item title suggests. I have returned it for a refund. I would recommend that everyone stay far far away from this unit and look elsewhere.

I was a little skeptical ordering a 3rd party product like this. Usually I do not have good results with these items. Yet I have to say I was actually amazed. This power supply works as intended. I was worried when I saw a 3 prong opening on the power cord (considering the plugin on the adapter was two prongs). Yet I plugged this into my xbox 360 (yes the original white one not the slim) and it powered on first try. I've been using this for several hours and it works great. I am really impressed with the locking feature it has where the end plugs into the back of the xbox360. That's a nice feature that more cables like this should have. So in summary. This power adapter works great and the the price you can't beat it. If by some chance this goes out I will not hesitate to get another one.

This thing was a complete waste of time. I plugged it in, and then it just went to a red light, just like the bad adapter I was replacing. I was convinced that the XBOX 360 was just beyond help. I didn't return the adapter out of shear stupidity. I later ordered another power supply from a different company, and it worked..... Stay away from this one. Maybe I just got a bad one, but beware if you order it. If you get a red light still, return it and go with the Official Xbox 360 Microsoft AC Power Supply Adapter 203W.

I ordered this months ago and I just attempted to use it for my son's xbox. It's important to understand that even though the system says xbox 360 - there is not a general power supply per xbox 360, apparently, there's like 4 different kinds. Today, I'll be searching for another xbox power supply to replace this one that does not work with our 360.
