Really dark, great head hight (6 person)
Purchased in the fall of 2025 and we've had it out a handful of times now. I really like this tent and if the main things that matter to you are the blackout fly and the head hight, stop looking around and get this one. The blackout fly makes the inside of the tent really, really dark. I sleep really well in this tent. I'm 6'2" and I don't have to scrunch down to change clothes. I knocked off a star because, like others have said, it's clear that these materials aren't going to last forever. I'm sure it would be an absolute oven in the summer, but I mostly camp in the shoulder seasons. The bag is a joke. But you're not taking this thing backpacking. This is for weekends with the college buddies and car camping with the scouts. For 2-3 people who like to sleep in a little bit, this may be the perfect tent.

Spacious
We got to use our tent and it is very spacious, and fairly easy to set up. Trying to set up the space for shoes was a bit difficult but we figured it out!

Not on par with usual SD quality.
One of the rainfly buckles was defective out of the box. While taking the tent down a pole grommet ripped out of the tie down strap. One use and done. Not the SD quality I'm used to.

Pure junk
I have had sierra design tents in the past that were great, and that is why I bought this one. This tent is horrible. Threads are coming out everywhere, the taping isn't straight, so it'll probably leak. I'd prefer a Walmart tent over this thing.

IT LEAKS
DO NOT BUY THIS TENT. It leaks in all four corners.

2025 Updated.....Almost perfect front-country tent. Well done, indeed!
2025 Update After one full camping season I have a good feel for this tent. In summary, I think it is good value. It has some negatives but offers advantages over every tent I have owned in the last 20 yrs. Positives: I would restate everything below. The black-out ability of this tent is its major advantage. You will need a flashlight in the middle of the day. It is amazing to open the rain fly and still be napping in darkness. There is a point in the TN summer that this tent gets a little stuffy, but still worth having it the rest of the year. Negatives: The fiberglass poles. They are worse than any cheaper tent you could buy. One of mine broke before the season was over with and it punctured my rain fly. The company did send a replacement immediately. Still, these poles are terrible. This go around I purchased aluminum replacement poles from another source. The way the short pole over the door feeds thru the rain fly is a nuisance as well, but I have learned to accept it. This tent is an enigma. It has mostly good design, thick fabric, good features.......and has these thin cheap poles. Plus it is priced well below its higher quality level. Not sure why more people are not buying it. It feels like that the designer worked hard on it until the very end and just gave up. Still, I am willing to invest $40 in a set of aluminum replacement poles and may buy another one of these tents to store away for the future. The black-out ability is just worth it. I would consider myself a front-country tent veteran and I bought this tent as a last-minute purchase until I could find a better tent (My last car camping tents were destroyed in an awesome feat of mother nature and wind- Lake Eden, NC). Turns out this is the best car camping tent I have ever owned for the reasons below: 1. Black-out Capability..... is something I have never seen in a tent before. It allowed us to sleep-in despite the early morning sun. This is the best feature by-far. Not sure why more companies don't do this. The inner tent is almost 100% mesh allowing for full air flow to make-up for the all encompassing black-out rainfly. One would think it would be a stuffy tent, but my experience is that the rainfly reduces heat load dramatically, reducing the need for a lot of air flow. 2. One-handed Door Zipping....Almost unheard of, but since their is no privacy screen double-zippered to the entry of the inner tent, the mesh door unzips and zips flawlessly. This is a big deal for car camping, especially if you have kids. 3. Vestibule Area.....I have seen bigger, but those tents will not fit on a lot of U.S./State Park campsite footprint that we have in TN/NC which are normally 11' x 11'. 4. Waterproof Floor.....The tent also has a thick waterproof floor. Brilliant! Again, why is this not on every front country tent. 5. Storage Bag....Really it is an open-sided sack with handles. Easy-peasy to load tent. 6. Storage Pockets....Lots of them and on all sides of the tent **The only thing keeping this from a perfect score is the door location. The door should be rotated to the narrow side allowing people to lay along the long side with feet at door. This allows for disturbance free exits during the night for peeing. Contrary to every attempt by tent companies to oversell the capacities of these tents, outside of an emergency no one is packing these tents full (2.5 people is comfortable). Minor improvement details would be the poles. They are a bit thin and the front rainfly pole is tedious to remove.
