As it has some abrasive properties, can this be used on trim or only paint, or ?

The label on the bottle recommends that it only be used on glossy paint and NOT matte finishes. I use and recommend a lot of Griot’s products to others who compliment me on the appearance of my vehicles. The Griot’s website is a good resource for recommended use of their products.

Is this fragrance free? Are there fumes?

While using product I don't smell anything. But if you take the lid off and smell directly in the bottle it has a pleasant citrus type smell. Smell not strong at all.

My truck was repainted badly and I don't trust how many clear coat layers they used. Would it be safer to start with this on a black pad?

I'd use a Griot's red waxing pad. This wax is not very abrasive, and a little goes a long way. I would do a light coat, section by section and remove. Allow for 24 hours cure time, then do a second light coat. It's a great wax. Touch up after washes with the Griot's spray shine, and maybe hit the Griot's ceramic spray wax every couple of months to maintain.

How does all in one differ from 3-1?

If you’re talking about the 3in one spray then the difference is the wax is a cream with mild abrasives to remove swirl marks and light scratches and harder to use , the spray is mainly for shine and protection,so if your car/truck needs to be polished then go with the wax
