Yellow Jacket 69336 AccuProbe UV Leak Detect

I am property manager who is EPA 608 certified and this tool has saved me so much time and money. I have found leaks in HVAC systems that the HVAC service companies used to just add refrigerant to every year or two and charge me way to much. Now I fix the leaks myself and tweak my refrigerant charge so my systems are running at their peak efficiency. All of it made possible by having this Leak Detector in my toolbox. Most of my leaks have been at the Schraeder valves which are easy to replace without removing the refrigerant from the system. With as easy as it is to use this tool and identify leaks I don't understand why every HVAC tech does not carry this on their service van / truck. Even though Yellow Jacket equipment tends to be more expensive than competitors I have found them to be the best quality so I tend to buy their equipment where I plan on keeping them for years and years.

I got sick of watching the HVAC techs wave their leak detectors around like magic wands and then tell me that I needed a new system (2 of them from different companies). I decided the only way to feel comfortable was to try this 'magic' myself. After playing with this for a few minutes I went to work methodically looking for leaks (as opposed to the professionals who literally just waved their detectors around.) I found two leaks in specific locations and organized with a friend in to fix them. He's a pro as well but didn't have a leak detector (in fact he told me to get the other guys who did!). He charged me a tiny fraction of what the other guys would and it's been 100% since then (and no leaks, which I know because I own this dandy leak detector to test with!).Then.... I turned it to my car which was having similar problems. :) I almost instantly found that leak as well and have fixed it on my own (I like working on my car.)So... this nifty little gizmo has more than paid for itself in my first week owning it! :)

This leak detector is a very nice tool. It is made in the USA and it is high quality. It worked like it should when I used it. I am very satisfied with this product. It even came with a carry case and batteries, 4 AA.

Tested a water cooled condenser on the water outlet pipe (dry)...On the most sensitive mode, tool went off like crazy beeping and I told my customer that's where the leak is. Changed the condenser and retested same beeping.......Apparently this tool is not accurate..False readings..and I am out a water cooled condenser and labor costs.......Thanks Yellow Jacket

Less than a year old and this detector goes wild even when there are no leaks. I'm pissed I spent so much money and this thing is broke already.

It does find leaks but it won't be the saving grace product that you want it to be.

This item was priced well and in stock whats not to love other sites had it for as much as $200 above their price
