Very sturdy and well made. I am 105 pounds and when I put my weight on it, it doesn't flex. It came with a great template and extra latches. Although I doubt I'll have to use them. The latches close it very tight and keep water out. I used this as a battery access on my jon jon boat. It also has a lot of screws to hold it down so heat of the day won't warp it and cause leaks. Overall great product and I already have additional areas I want access into so I'll be buying more of these. No assembly required as it comes ready to install right out of the box

I purchased this lid for a buddy’s bass boat as part of an overhaul. We built a custom tackle storage box that needed a lid, and this one was a perfect fit. It was easy to install, and since it’s top-mounted, we needed something sturdy enough to withstand weight as it would be stepped on to access the front of the boat. After about a year of use, it’s held up great. While we would’ve preferred a flush-mounted lid, at this price point, we couldn’t find one, so the slight raised height hasn’t been a problem—it’s not enough to be a tripping hazard. Installation was straightforward: just drop it into place, mark the holes, drill, and secure it with stainless steel screws. Some reviews mention issues with the plastic latches breaking, which could happen if you’re not careful, so just be aware that might be a potential weak spot. But considering the price, I think it’s a great value. The opening is about the same size as the lid itself, and while I couldn’t find a photo with it open, several other reviews show it. Overall, it’s a solid, reliable option.

Awesome and durable deck lids put one in my Jon boat it works flawlessly.

Update: After I wrote the review below, I contacted the seller through Amazon. The seller immediately offered to send me 2 new latches. Can't beat that, except more durable latches would be nice. I used this as a door to the power reel on my RV. One of the latches broke on our first trip. They are plastic what else should I have expected. Very disappointed.

Really strong installation was straight forward and they came with extra latches, and to my surprise they are waterproof have been poured on a couple of times and wells are still dry gotta love that

Latches broken under regular movement and regular force . Vendor does not offer spare latches for replacement and states that as the damage caused by product quality happened 37 days after the order was purchased it is beyond the 30 days for refund so nothing can be done

Got this hatch for my 16 foot fishing boat I was restoring. It’s high quality and exactly what I wanted. Some reviews mention the latches not lasting so will be real careful not to use excessive force.
