Escapism with relatable and surprising moments
I loved how relatable this book was, while also offering escapism and laugh out loud moments. I could visualise the characters, locations and situations so vividly and felt like I was sitting on Lucy’s shoulder as she tried to navigate life and make the right choices… Danielle keeps you guessing - you know all is not what it seems with certain characters and situations, but I was still surprised by the big reveals.

A bit predictable.
I thought the idea for this story was quite interesting and I enjoyed the first few chapters. Then I realised that I could predict what was going to happen, and in fact I checked to see if I'd read it before - I hadn't! I must say that the author dragged every last bit of action out of every situation, all of it predictable, the only question was when. The three stars are earned by the fact that there is no f-word anywhere, an increasing novelty nowadays, but I won't be reading this again. Sorry.

Decent
Well written and well edited, even if I did despise the heroine for most of it.Can’t complain as I did finish it.

A Good Storyline
I only gave this book two stars for one reason. First the good bits. A pleasant romantic enjoyable story. The bad bits? I absolutely hate, abhore and detest an author who uses popular Hollywood celebrities to describe their characters. This writer used Harry Styles!!?? Yes Harry Styles from One Direction!!! 😲 OMG! A very big turn off and a lazy way of describing the main male character. Every reader has their own picture in their head and all it takes is for the author to give a height, colouring and stature and we can make our own deductions. This completely ruined the book for me because Harry Styles does less than zero for me in the romantic imagination.

great romantic comedy
OK so it is a bit obvious where the story is going but it does have realistic descriptions of. A). How childhood trauma and neglect can affect adults B). How hard it is for women to be successful and “have it all”, as men always have.
