Great rod
Love this rod. Bought it to surf fish as a light weight replacement for a much heavier setup and it worked out great. Put a higher end Shimano reel on it and they work great together. Great value for the money. Casting distance is excellent. Very sensitive. Definitely recommend this rod.

So light!
Recently been doing some replacing of surf fishing gear, and rods were high on the list. I hadn’t really looked in to surf rods for a good 20yrs and these had awesome reviews. For a good all around, started with the 10ft Medium and can’t wait to get it in the water. Paired with a Shimano Ultegra CI4+ it feels great, something I can cast with all day and also will work well for soaking baits. Appears to be well made, only time will tell but, from what I can see I think I’ll get many years out of it. The price for what you get if tough to beat.

Killer rod
Without question, best surf rod hands down. Bought 10ft and wouldn't go longer. Used 1 oz egg sinker in Carolina rig and killed surfperch. Paired with Penn reel but may go lighter even though casting was amazing

Light, sensitive, and strong!
Love, love, love these rods! I’ve got the 10M and 10MH. They are lightweight and strong! I paired one with a Penn Slammer and the other with a Penn Clash. They are very sensitive allowing me to feel the lightest of bites and yet strong enough for any of the Colorado River stripers I fish for. I will be adding the 12MH to my collection because of the way my 10’s have performed. I know logically it’s dumb to have a “favorite rod” but the Rockaways are always the first poles I grab when heading to the river! Additional info: Added the 12MH for some extra distance in trying to reach previously unfishable parts of the Colorado River. I prefer the 10 foot rods but will use the 12 footer on special trips to different parts of the river. It’s a little more difficult to manage than the shorter rods.

The Rockaway can’t handle the fish at Rockaway Beach…
At first, I LOVED this rod. Funny enough, I mostly casted at Rockaway Beach here in NYC and in the 3 weeks I’ve owned it, I’ve taken it out 6-8x and it’s landed me my personal best on 2 different species. I absolutely loved how lightweight & sensitive it was, and as someone who likes to jig, I really appreciated the action & play I was able to get with it. Earlier tonight, while fishing and hour after high tide, I set the hook on what was the largest striper I’d ever hooked by FAR and as I was pulling him onto the rocks *SNAP* and there went about 2.5’ of my tip. If this rod was only a bit more durable, it’d be 5 stars all day, but if I can’t trust it to hold up on the jetty or pier, it’s pointless for me. Such. A. Shame.

LONG LAKE CASTING. 2OZ. LURES
Been using this Rod for about a month.... and it's Great Bank Casting Rod, that will put u out about 100 yards from the bank, using 40# Braid power pro line, Striper fishing.... is fun and exciting with this 10' rod. When your able to cast 100 yards or so, you can cover allot of territory! Paired with the right Reel. I matched mine with a Shimano Stradic 4000. My 2nd time out, I landed a 6 pound striper..... lots of good action, and fun... The MED action is a little Sponging at the top, but it help sharpen your Hook set "method". I give it 5 Stars................ I like it so much, I Order one for my Brother, as a gift. My next one will be a 12' Heavy Action for fishing in American Samoa

Rod Snapped After Two Weeks of Use
Rod was not very lightweight or sensitive but that is to be expected at this price point. However, after less that two weeks of using it, the upper third of the rod snapped off. The rod is rated for up to three ounces and it snapped while tossing a 2 oz hogy jig... Needless to say that is very baffling and I will be contacting Okuma to get my money back

Light weight & a good value
Able to handle those slammer blues , light weight to carry and cast . Loads and casts good. Only the reel seat locking ring loosen but I check it before fishing like the drag.
