Shorter than your average book but each page is gold.
Jeremy Clarkson runs a farm called Diddly Squat in the Cotswolds. Here is his tale of life on the farm. ‘Til The Cows Come Home is book 2 in the Diddly Squat series of 5 books. I believe that each book can be read as a stand-alone. I have watched the 4 seasons of Clarkson’s Farm broadcast on Amazon Prime Video. The books give the reader more content about life on the farm than viewers catch from the television series. I was impressed that Jeremy is very good with his words and content, so that no content is repeated in his books or the television series. What you get is unique to that media, although obviously the farm and the people are the same but the anecdotes and incidents are different. ‘Til The Cows Come Home is a jolly and entertaining read, just like his television series. Jeremy writes just the way he talks to camera, very much the bloke in the pub, with a lovely dry sense of humour. He is very opinionated and not politically correct. He is a typical Yorkshireman and calls a spade a spade, for example… This would be acceptable if they were just getting on with it. But this is the thing you don’t realise when you’re constructing a house: builders are like six-year-old children. They need constant supervision. If you let them ‘get on with it’, they fall in ponds and spill paint and drop stuff, and then they all argue and sulk and you have to stop what you’re doing to sort them out. …I found ‘Til The Cows Come Home to be an entertaining and light humorous read with his frank opinions. Jeremy is a very busy man, writing newspaper columns, running a car show - The Grand Tour - running a farm show - Clarkson’s Farm - an internet business, presenting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Writing many books and the day to day running of Diddly Squat farm. Reading this book gives you ‘anecdotes a plenty’ and is very British. I loved the format of this book and although Jeremy is a very well known celebrity, if you had never heard of the man, you would still fall in love with his book. He is so charismatic. I think this is a GOOD 4 star read which leaves you wanting more. There are no dull bits or padding in this book, the editing is spot on but the length is shorter than your average book running to only 223 pages. Each page is gold but there are still only 223 of them.

Hilarious but too close to the truth for comfort
Jeremy Clarkson is an accomplished writer who has a knack of getting to the nub of an issue without boring the reader with irrelevant drivel.

Cracking read
If you liked the TV series of Jeremy Clarkson on his Cotswold farm you will love this book. It's funny and also has some great facts and figures about farming in the UK in general and of course his own crazy plans down on his farm.

Dusky squat
The humour was brilliant, the arguements out forward were very interesting and it would be great to hear what the government thinks of it. Because I have to say Jeremy has signed the light on the farmers plight i.didn't know what they have to go through. Seriously can't wait for his next series, and book.

Formulaic - But Enjoyable
This arrived yesterday and thanks to a head cold and a sleepless night l had read it by morning. A year ago Clarkson published a book “Diddly Squat” and this book is the follow-up and the second in a likely annual series of these. I read that book, enjoyed it and indeed left a positive review of it on Amazon. On page 6 of this new book a note appears from the publisher: ‘The contents of this book first appeared in Jeremy Clarkson’s Sunday Times column.’ That this book is a compilation of previously published material isn’t particularly clear from the publisher’s blurb and regular readers of that Sunday paper may feel short changed by this. I enjoyed this book and had started to write a review on Amazon when l thought I would re-read my review of the previous book, and guess what - every line of that previous review holds true for the new book, so I’ll now do a Clarkson and re-hash that review below: “The main point to note here is that this book is a collection of Clarkson’s Sunday Times articles. I was aware of this and enjoyed the book but if you are a regular reader of that newspaper you are likely to feel shortchanged. There is a strong sense that this book has been padded out - the font is very large, almost akin to that of a child’s book. There are needless drawings of Clarkson in various poses about his farm between each article (chapter) as well as blank pages either side of the drawings. I read the entire book in about 2 days and many readers would probably finish sooner than that. However the writing is typical Clarkson - punchy and humorous. I really enjoyed his descriptions and insights of learning to be a farmer. I had already watched his series on this on Amazon and wanted more and this book delivers that. A short but enjoyable book, not worth the publisher’s recommended price but worth Amazon’s heavily discounted price. Recommended.”
