A great camera
The camera is easily installed. The picture quality in most all situations is very good. Once the settings are done, you really don't have to mess with it any more as it takes care of turning on and off with the car automatically. The parking mode is especially good feature. If I have to point out it weakest point it would be the software that goes on your desktop computer. I have a Mac and the software is not real stable it crashes and is jittery sometimes on screen. I have not used the mobil app as of yet.

Warning! the battery will die and then you must throw it out
I liked this camera initially. The camera quality is clear, it supports a simultaneously recording rear camera. I had it professionally installed. Initially I thought I made a good buy. Fast forward over a year (outside of warranty of course) and it's shown itself to be literal trash. Skip to the end for the summary if you're pressed for time, I can't recommend anyone buy this. It sat in my vehicle quietly (except for the beeps you can do nothing about when starting and stopping) doing it's job for many months - or so I thought. I finally had a need to pull some video from the camera for an insurance claim. First of all, the app is horrendous, it needs to establish a wifi connection to do anything with video on the device but the connection is slow to establish and your phone will connect to any other wifi (near you house? too bad. have wireless carplay? too bad.) before it finishes and then the process just hangs. So you force close the app and cycle the power on the camera and hope it completes faster next time. Once I was finally in (many tries later and after driving away from my home and disabling carplay in my vehicle) I was shocked that all the videos were from months ago with just a couple recent (as in a few minutes ago recent). What the heck?!? The very reason this things exists, to capture this important event, and it didn't do its job! Complete failure. Lots of troubleshooting later I found the reason. The internal battery in the device had died. It didn't send any sort of notification that this happened (they have an app, you'd think that would be pretty basic to send a notification), it had just silently died months prior. This thing is hard-wired into my vehicle so you'd expect a dead battery wouldn't even matter but it turns out that without the internal battery the internal clock constantly resets. That clock is critical to determining which videos are stored and which are overwritten because it always kills the oldest videos to make room for whatever it is recording right now. Well with the clock always resetting to 1/1/2020 all the recent videos are timestamped as the oldest videos (using what the clock thinks is the current date of 1/1/2020 when at the time writing this it is September 2023) and all the oldest (really the recent, because again, wrong timestamp of 1/1/2020) are deleted to make room for the "new." Wash/rinse/repeat, the result is that you never get new videos that last more than some number of minutes. OK, that's a pretty big design flaw but we should be able to address this, let's get a new battery installed and I'll just have to manually check battery health every month (huge hassle since there isn't a way to be notified, remember, you have to remove the camera, charge it, reset it, then time it as it burns through the charge to determine whether it's junk or not, this isn't just a matter of going to a battery health menu a la Apple and checking percentage battery life). So I call customer support to arrange for a battery replacement. I'm out of warranty so I'm expecting to pay for this but that's fine, should be fraction of the cost of a replacement camera. I speak with the nice customer support person and she informs me that they can't sell me a battery. OK, I tell her I'm fine paying them to install it for me, I'll ship them the unit. She tells me that's not a service they provide. I ask what would happen if the unit were under warranty she says THEY REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT. The ONLY solution they offer is complete replacement because of a dead battery, a consumable component. This is the epitome of e-waste, a $5-ish battery dies in about 18 months or so and your $400 camera is junk (plus any accessories you bought are worthless without the camera). I tell her this sounds like they are telling me I have to throw out this $400 camera (not including the rear view camera that is going to be useless and the hard wire kit and the installation fees, we're really talking about the better part of a $1000 down the drain) because of a dead battery. She says no, she can send me the battery specs and I can get one myself. Great, I ask for the battery specs. It's not a user serviceable battery, it's only available via the Chinese equivalent of Amazon and then requires you to solder in three wires to connect it. I'm no electronics expert, this isn't something I'm going to tackle. I ask her what they do with the units they take back under warranty and she says they send them in to get refurbished. I ask if I can do the same with mine and she tells me no, they send them to the manufacturer in the UK and they do and that's not a service they can offer me. So, long very long story short. The image quality is nice but the app is terrible and most importantly, the battery, like all batteries, will die in a little over the warranty period and when it does the only solutions are A) be an electronics expert who is comfortable buying a battery from an unknown seller in China, waiting two months for it to ship to the US, and then disassembling, soldering, and reassembling the device or B) throw it out. I'd expect that means for 99% of those reading this review this camera will be literal trash within 18 months and during that time you'll have zero warning that it may have failed and not be storing any of your critical videos just when you need them most. I can't recommend anyone buy this unless and until Nextbase addresses these massive holes in this product. It's really a shame and in my opinion terrible business practices on the part of the US Nextbase distributor.

Paid for itself catching an accident tin the first month!
Best dash cam i have ever had. Super clear picture front and back. I got the rear camera as well. I suggest hardwiring it in and maybe even getting the optional suction cup mount too. I used the 3M sticky pads it came with and I 100% love them. However, inside of a dark car in the southern summers will cause the glue to weaken. I find myself replacing the sticky pad once per year or so. Over all I am really happy with that, but having the suction cup is really nice as a back up while you are getting more sticky pads.

Good video footage
It wasn't too hard to set up. I haven't messed with it much since installing it. I do like the front and rear cameras and tge ease of taking a picture while driving.

Very nice camera
I installed this in my wife's Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. It works great. The cables are plenty long if you plan on popping open a couple of the trim pieces inside the cab to fish it through to the back of the van for the rear facing cam. I originally tried to tuck it in under the edges of the hard plastic trim in the van, but it cam up short... to go from the cam on the dash, around the windshield, down to the floorboard, along the door jams to the back, up the back to the hinge on the back door, across to the center of the door and down to the window... all proved too long of a route for the included cable. Some minor disassembly was required to fish though, but it was all worth it.

Dash camera
I purchased this Nexbase dash cam for a road trip to South Dakota, the videos clarity was exceptional. One of the features of the dash cam which I turned off was sound recording, my only reason for this was I didn’t want anyone who I shared the videos with to hear our conversations. I was driving on a very dark road with limited lighting, but the dash cam was still able to record when the car headlights were on. Excellent dash cam and I would highly recommend. Asso you can used only brand card as long as they are the high quality cards.

Complete Garbage, No Better Than Bottom Tier Models
For my new car, I read reviews and ranking lists on several sites while looking for a dashcam system that provided front and rear camera. The Nextbase 622GW appeared on almost every Top 5 / Top 10 sort of list I looked over, so despite the alarming number of bad reviews from people actually bought one, I decided to try it... What a waste of time. 1st: Outdated connection for hardwire and terrible customer service. The camera warns you that using an aftermarket hardwire kit will void your warranty, so of course I spent twice as much and purchased the official one... It doesn't include Low Profile Micro Fuses, which, even my previous car from 2009 used, since those are the prevalent type of fuse in cars today. Now, they do offer on the listing to send you one if you need it... But they are out of stock supposedly, and have been for over a month now, at one point they said they shipped me one to be delivered within 5 days, but 8 days after that they sent a message saying they are still on backorder with no ETA. 2nd: Video Quality is horrible when the vehicle is in motion, which is when you really need it, because you need to capture the action if something happens; your car isn't a tourist snapping still shots, it needs to record while in motion, and this things video quality is about on par with the very first forty-nine dollar camera I tried years ago. Also, just to put the idea of bad SD card out the realm of possibility; I tried 2 different Samsung U3 A2 V30 cards that work great in my old front only camera. I realize Nextbase offers their own brand of SD card, but I assure you it isn't any better than Samsung or Sandisk. One note on this, it is possible I received a defective camera, as the rear facing camera does take fairly decent video compared to the front, but still subpar for a five hundred dollar camera. I am returning this and getting a newer version of my front only camera to try instead. I do not recommend this camera, and based on the customer service experience, I do not foresee giving Nextbase another chance either.

Nice dash cam
I like this dash cam a lot. The link to phones needs work. Like a lot of people I have had issues with the camera locking up. This usually happens when I start my car and put it in gear and move quickly. If I start the car and let the camera catch up I don't seem to have the lock up issue.

Waste of Money
Hi i will recommend not to waste money on this item. Not worthy.. battery didnt even lasted for one year and there is no customer support available. I am trying to reach the seller from few days and seems he dont care.. a cheaper option will do the same job .. its a myth that expensive dash cams are better.. there are million better and cheap options available which will do the same job..

Great camera set up to protect your vehicle.
Great camera, easy to install. Easy to connect to the MyNextbase app which allows you to easily configure your required camera settings and view the recorded video files. Nextbase was recommended to me by a friend who has had Nextbase dashcams for over 10 years and this camera setup has not disappointed. I would recommend also purchasing the hard wire kit as well which will allow better use of the parking (where it records any bumps by other cars while parked in a car park) function of the camera, as the cameras built in battery won’t last long while the car is turned off.
