Build quality is solid and it does the job well.
Build quality is solid and it does the job well. I had to change the sound output from auto to PCM to make it work on my TV but other then, it works perfectly and it's priced well.

Seem to work fine after adjusting TV optical output
Used this to connect the Digital Toslink Optical output from my MILs new UHD TV to a set of powered external speakers that use a headphone jack connection. Note you may need to adjust the optical output on the TV for certain input signals (had loud clicking when I was connected to some streaming content- had to switch to PCM on optical output using TV sound settings to correct- believe it originally defaulted to DTS). The power cable is a little short (I just plugged it into an extension cord) and it doesn't include a Digital Toslink Optical cable (I got one of the Amazon Basic 6 ft models) but otherwise all is good

Works perfect
Converter works perfectly. I'm taking an optical cable out from the TV, converting to 3.5mm and out to the input on my Beats dock. Sounds is great and no issues.

This is more of a question. I have a new Samsung tv that has a One Connect hub for plugging in HDMI cables. There is no jack for plugging in head phones. There is an optical cable jack in the hub. I connected the Dongjian using an optical cable. At this point I only get static on my head phones. I’m I doing something wrong?

Had to get this to enable headphone TV listening
Hooked it up with some Velcro so I could unpower it when not in use. It gets warm when plugged in & not in use. There is no fire danger for its current setup - the case is metal and it sits on atop furniture with a tempered glass (1/4" thick) cover. I might worry otherwise! Do watch how you use this.

Does the job as a converter but don't expect any improved volume.
I had hoped that this devise would help to amplify the sound coming from my television to my headphones but it does not. It is just a converter that allows you to convert the audio from one form of input to another form of output. Probably my mistake thinking that it would also increase the volume. If you are looking to use it just as a converter it works fine. If you are looking for something that has the capacity to improve on the volume look elsewhere.

Works good.
Works just fine. I recommend also getting a volume adjusting option of some sort if you're not running it though an audio receiver.
