Essie Gel Couture Top Coat

This stuff is great! It's honestly the best topcoat I've ever found. I use it over my gel manicure after about the first week, when the manicure is still in good shape but could use a little refresh. I reapply it every other day or so, and it makes a noticeable difference. It would also be a great topcoat on regular nail polish, or bare nails for strength and shine. I especially like that it adds another layer of protection against chips, and helps keep my manicure looking good much longer when I use this regularly. And a little extra shine is a bonus! I've included a photo so you can see the shine for yourself. I get a lot of compliments on the color also, so if you're curious, it's DND gel polish, Chili Pepper #757.

I love this top coat! It provides protection of my polish and a gorgeous shine that lasts a long time. I apply one coat on top of my color polish and it lasts me about a week. I love that it's easy to take off too. Essie really did good with this! Highly recommend!

I've used this top coat over both Essie Gel polish and some cheap ($2) stuff I got at the drug store, and it's maintained the polish well in both cases. Days with no chips or loss of polish. That hasn't always happened with other top coats.

This top coat is very thick. And, based on one of the reviews I read, I was concerned about the length of time it would take for it to dry. But, I was thrilled to see it didn’t take long, at all. In fact within 5 minutes it had dried to a very hard, shiny finish, that kept my nails looking great for over a week. (I used two very small battery operated fans, to dry my nails. Maybe that’s why they came out so well.) My other concern was the thickness of the polish. I thought it might create tiny bubbles all over my nails. But, it didn’t! Finally, it comes with a ‘large’ brush, which works well for me, because I have relatively large hands/nails.

Best top coat ever. Glides on so smooth and dries really quick 0. Beautiful.

First timer, dries so quickly, makes a great base to work from. I need more time for more information.

I love the polish & how it lasts but I believe this helps. In pool usually 5 days out of 7.

I have very soft brittle nails that bend and break easily. Regular gel polish lifts away from my nail bed after about a week, so they never last 2 weeks and are an absolute waste of time and money. Essie Gel Couture polish REALLY does last at least 10 days on hands and 3 weeks on toes. 1st, I clean/dry my nails with alcohol to remove any oils, then apply 3 coats of color (if it's sheer like Gossamer) and 1 coat of Essie Gel Couture top coat. My nails look the same after 5 days. No visible chips or wear. On day 5, I add another Essie top coat to get another 5 days of chip-less color and shine. Some users noted issues with drying time. My solution: place nails under a UV/fan light to dry for 1 minute between coats and for another 1 minute after the top coat. Nails are completely dry to a light touch in 5 minutes and cured in about 10 minutes. I'll definitely order more colors, as I may have finally found a long lasting polish combo!
