OSX failure
This camera is shipped with a factory IP of 192.168.1.108, if your network is outside of this range you will have great difficulty setting it up. It is manufactured by Dahua and their site support is limited to some software that may or may not help you. No instructions or any printed material comes with this item, so you will be forced to peruse the internet to find set up solutions. This camera seems to be oriented to Windows. Proferred solutions are to set up a network, Windows, to address the IP; this is not practicable if your network and router is being used with 50 or so items. so if you have a medium sized network it becomes problematic. Further, my internet research indicated that Dahua's software locks you out for 45 minutes after three attempts. The install difficulties in OSX preclude recommending for use with MAC computers. This was to be used with Synology but since I was unable to get the IP address to our networks IP range I do not know if it is compatible or not. Amazon made a valiant effort to help, but to no avail. A return will occur.

Learning curve
I primarily got this camera for RTSP streaming. With that in mind, it was a bit of a challenge getting it going since it did not come with instructions. Further, on Dahua's website, this particular (discontinued) model cannot be found. After googling around a bit, here's what I found. The camera's default address is 192.168.1.108. The default username/password can be found on Dahua's wiki (admin/admin for me). For rtsp streaming, the address is rtsp://user:[email protected]:554/live.The h265 codec and the high-resolution are really good features and make it relatively low bandwidth. The picture looks pretty good and you can control the resolution and frame rate if you want. There are other streams you can make available like h264 and lower resolution.

Works great with experience
This is my second one of this same model. The first one didn't work well because it came with no document at all. This one has instructions. It works great after I figured out how to make it work with my Q-See NVR. The zoom feature is great but it works not as a PTZ feature. On my NVR, I can zoom under the "auto focus" feature. It is odd but I can live with it. One think I wish differently is the adjustment screws. There are three of them. Adjusting the pointing direction is not as easy as my other cameras which have only one screw.

Will buy more in the future
The image on this camera is almost breathtaking. The focus is fast and accurate. The most amazing thing is the ir. The ir on this lights up my neighbors house across the street.

They work very well. Instructions in chinese. Firmware is not upgradeable.
I have purchase two of these. The day and night pictures are remarkable for the money. All the instructions and paperwork are in Chinese (I think). I found the "configtool" software on the Dahua Website. I installed the software, it found the cameras and I was able to configure them in English. I use the BlueIris (not included) software to trigger and save any alerts. You may get some help from the IPCameraTalk forum, but they are mainly professionals and will not spend much time answering basic questions for the new guys. Also pay attention to the statement the supplier made about not being able to upgrade the firmware on the camera. Apparently that is not possible with the "international version". I have read that it is possible with the English version. If upgrading camera firmware is essential, do some research and find out for sure.
