Here's a simple tool designed to hold any round/cylindrical object up to 3" (76mm) in diameter as well as, Irregular/non-standard shaped items like tree branches, sculptures, and model airplanes/gliders up to 2 Lbs. It can be set to many angles and raised/lowered from 3.25 - 4.75" (82-120mm) with a sturdy a release knob. I created it to hold my vacuum hose while doing fine sanding/cutting work on the table and with the drill. Now, it is also being used to hold my rotary tool as well, in lieu of the clunky old vice. This works very well; especially when fixed to the table using micro-clamps and with tools secured by ordinary velcro straps from the hardware store. Hopefully this will make your tasks much easier as it has for me. This item is sold as a kit, but only requires wood glue for assembly. Assembly time is only about 10-15 minutes. Update: This has now been upgraded to Version 2 with a wider 3/4" (19mm) space on the base for clamps, slots to hold up to 3/4" wide straps and also has a standard 1/4-20 nut for use with tripods and workbench mounts.
