Got it for my grandson for his birthday and he loved it

I understand that to some fans feel this new style that they have moved on to in their last 2 albums is too far removed from their old stuff but for me I think it's a masterpiece and their greatest work to date. I don't really know what genre it would be described as but the sound and the imagery it conjures when listening to it is just magical. Ive heard talks of bond themes in the making and I can see why, some tracks just transport me to a 1970s bond villains lair or even the Thunderbirds HQ lol. My only complaint is that there's not more of it. Stand out tracks for me are let there be a mirrorball, sculptures of anythings goes, I aint quite where I think I am, hello you. But to me it's not an album that I would select individual songs to add to a playlist. It's a full album experience thats best enjoyed as a whole. Listening on vinyl only adds to the theatre and pleasure of setting aside the 37mins to enjoy it in full.

I liked everything about this CD. I have never listened to the band before as it isn't my kind of music but when I saw a TV programme about them I just loved their new CD!!!! So different from their past music!!!Loved it!!!!

Like other recent Arctic Monkeys albums, the raw energy of the band’s early years has been replaced by lush orchestration and a more languid feel. You still get Alex Turner’s clever lyrics though the references sometimes feel as though they come from an earlier era – ‘Subbuteo cloak’ and ‘smudging dubbin’ for example.‘There’d Better be a Mirrorball’ is the stand out track here with a smoky nightclub feel and lyrics that carry an undertone of sentimentality and self-doubt. This feeling is echoed in the other tracks, but for me a lot of them sound far too similar.It’s music for an evening in front of the fire with a good whisky, though there’s a strong risk that you’ll fall asleep.

Amazing the sound and that album is so cool and different from the others.
