We had our last corkscrew for at least 15 years, probably longer. I broke it through misuse. I figured this replacement would be pretty much the same. Was I ever wrong! This is a beautifully finished upgrade: MUCH heavier metal, comfortable padding on the handles, a nylon collar to rest more securely on the mouth of the bottle, and all-around beefier.

Solid construction & Quality

Maybe it’s just the contrast to the 25 year old corkscrew, but this thing works through a cork like a hot knife through butter. The point slices the cork cover like a breeze. The threads glide through the cork, and grip well when levering it out. Highly recommended!

Although this wine opener has a very appealing look, it's usability is more crucial. It grips the bottle firmly and tightly, screws with minimal effort, and releases with ease. You will be pleased.

So far I am very happy with this opener. It is a little heavier than my other one and seems to be made very well.

I love this corkscrew. I find it easy to keep centered and have never had any trouble getting the entire cork to come out (unlike some of the less charitable reviews). It feels very solid to me (I have had the corkscrew for 2 months and use it about twice a week).

Quality item, amazing price!

The corkscrew seems like a quality item but broke after only five or six uses. Had to be an odd defect. Seller made it right.

this is the third bottle opener we bought on amazon. the first, a battery powered electric opener was a scam that cannot open even one bottle. the second, a similar metal type of cork opener, it bent in half trying to open the bottle. this opener does the job and is strong enough where the steel doesnt bend or fold as you uncork.

I reserve 1-star reviews for products which are literally dangerous to possess, so this worthless garbage product gets 2 stars. It's made of metal that's so soft I can't begin to guess what it is. It's certainly not steel, not even aluminum... some sort of tin alloy maybe? It bent in my hands just attempting to extract the very first cork and I snapped the handle right off by accident in my video review. It's made of solid metal, you expect it to be pretty robust, but no, it's garbage. If this was made of steel (even steel that hadn't been properly heat-treated yet!), it would NOT bend like this. I don't make video reviews very often but this actually makes me angry. Such a simple product, such a simple mechanism, how do you screw up this bad? Shameless, disgusting.
