Coogam Gans 356 Air SM Speed Cube 3x3 Black Gan 356Air S Magnetic Puzzle Cube Gan356 with New GES V3 Spring (2019 Upgraded Version)

I've been playing with Rubik's cubes for a number of years, though not to the level or extent of today's speed cubing elite. I just got tired of the slow and sticky standard issue Rubik's cube, even the one I've thoroughly broken in over the last decade. What prompted the move to the speed cube world was my mistake of lubing my cube with silicone spray, which destroyed my cube. Seriously! It was almost like I melted the cube. All the web advice suggests using silicone spray, but mine locked up solid after I tried it. I should have stuck with WD40, which I've been using all these years. ...but I digress. So, I went online and researched the best speed cubes and narrowed the selection down to three highly rated cubes available here at Amazon. D-FantiX Moyu Weilong GTS V2 M Magnetic Speed Cube 3x3, Weilong GTS2 M Magic Cube Puzzle Black D-FantiX QiYi The Valk 3 Speed Cube 3x3 Stickerless Magic Cube 3x3x3 Puzzle Toy and Coogam Gans 356 Air SM Speed Cube 3x3 Black Gan 356Air S Magnetic Puzzle Cube with New GES V3 Spring (2019 Upgraded Version) All three are a quantum leap improvement over the standard cube. All three are quite pricey, though the Gans 356 kit I purchased was the most expensive because it included the travel bag, replacement magnets, printed solutions page, etc. I bought all three to see if there was any appreciable difference between the cubes. Here's the bottom line? There wasn't. All three feel pretty much the same to me after a couple of minutes of handling them. All three are a delight to use compared to the original cube. Smooth effortless movements. No more sticking to take you out of the zone. The sticker-less issue works as well as the rest, but I'm not a huge fan of the different coloring scheme. All three have some sub-10-second contest winner touting them. If you are one of the elite speed-cubers, you're not reading this review. For the average Joe, just looking for a better cubing experience, you can't go wrong with any of the leading contenders. If you like the look of the sticker free cube, but don't care for the color scheme of the Valk 3, there is a Gan 356 Stickerless cube that appears to have the original color scheme. Otherwise, flip a coin between Moyu Weilong or Gans 356. With regard to the latter, you can save a bunch of money by getting the cube by itself. I doubt you'll actually swap out the springs or do any tweaking of the cube. The bag and solution page are nice to have, but not truly necessary. Especially at nearly twice the price of the cube sold without the accessories. Good luck

First of all, I will never be anywhere near competition speed. Maybe 30 years ago when I was young, but not now. I've never had a decent cube and had no idea what the difference would be. It is completely night and day. The important parts for me are that the cube is light, easy to turn and very quiet. The first two means I can play with it for a long time without getting tire. It being quiet means I can do it even while I'm on a phone meeting. :-) I also love the corner cutting. I never knew what I was missing. I'm not sure how much the magnets help, but they are definetely noticable in a good way. I bought this for the above reasons and because I didn't mind spending a little bit more money to make sure I was getting the real deal. I am very happy with my purchase.

I'm rarely bowled over by a product, but this cube is clearly the best cube in the world right now. Right out of the box with the stock nuts its perfect. I'm not good enough to have low times, but I would say I'm 5 to 10% faster with this cube, its so notacible you will say WOW out loud. You can definitely feel the magnets pulling the cube back into square when you overshoot, and it kind of smoothly clicks (no noise, just a sense of two magnets being near each other) when you turn it. Sure its expensive, but when you are buying cutting edge cube technology, you have to pay for that priveledge. Only bad thing I can say is that the day bright colors are different than I'm used to and it will take a few more solves to get used to it.

Pros: Turns are great, magnets not too strong, and extremely quiet. GES springs give the user the ability to set up the cube much more to their own needs but are not the easiest to deal with as the pieces are small and the tool to turn them is plastic. Cons: Adjusting the GES springs is a headache, the corner cutting initially was decent but took tensioning to get to cut 45 degrees easily, and the packaging is very bland. Overall, this is a top notch cube and with some tensioning and work done to it, this is definitely a great option for a main cube.

When you buy this cube for $10 less than the cubicle.com, its a great deal. It is the real gan air sm and has the honeycomb design when gives it a nice buttery feel. My favorite ges nut are the green and clear. If you want a speed cube you should get this one. The reason I didn’t give 5 starts is because lockup are occasional and magnet have a bit of a strong feel

I am just getting back into speed cubing. My last main was a DaYan ZhanChi which I bought back in 2013. I set my PBs on that cube and have always loved it. I haven't been avidly speed cubing since probably 2015. Well, once I opened up the Gan 356 Air SM.... just WOW. This cube is nothing like anything I have ever experienced before. It literally feels like you are turning AIR (probably why they named it that). The turns are smooth, fast, and light. The magnets are insane, they feel like a cheat code. Turning my ZhanChi after feeling this cube is a chore. The 356 Air SM is INCREDIBLE. BUY THIS CUBE.

I was a beginner who started with a cyclone 3x3. I then got this cube after learning how to solve and wanting to increase my speed. I was worried about getting the 356 X cause I didn't want to have TOO many options and changeable peices, but didn't want a mediocre cube either. In my opinion, whether you're an amateur or not, this cube is awesome. The magnets are incredible and easily took me from 3 minutes to 66 seconds in one day.

I am far from a pro cyber, but I was disappointed to notice that within my first week of using, the stickers started to chip.
