I enjoy listening through headphones quite often, and I listen through some fairly expensive gear. One being a MCIntosh MHA 100 headphone amp and another amp, a Primaluna Evo 400. This was purchased to obtain a decent portable setup for my office which changes. I run this with a very inexpensive Aiyima and Topping Dac. And I must say my over all impression is that I am very happy with with how well this headphone amp performs. It’s DEAD quiet and sounds neutral it’s presentation. I use it with a preamp in between this and a topping DAC. The preamp allows me to have tone controls, as I like to have some flexibility. Let me tell you, for the price I don’t think you can beat it. I has enough power to drive many headphones and delivers more than enough I need with three gain settings (low, med, high) with a smooth volume knob. This entire setup is just around 300 dollars with the most expensive piece being the headphone amp at half that. So not bad at all. I think most people who try this amp will be very pleased. I havnt tried to bypass it to see if it’s completely or neutral or now with it running between a source and say, and amp that doesn’t have a headphone out. For those with amps that don’t have a headamp out, this may be a be try good solution, or for those that want a cool little desktop setup. Overall a win A+.

This thing is so loud (WITHOUT distortion) I probably already have hearing damage. Pairs dangerously well with Sennheiser HD650. Impeccable for the price. I can never go back to streaming music again, the general public have no idea what they are missing out on. This amp sounds incredible. Some people really believe that streaming music and CD players sound the same, and I too once believed in Santa Claus.

I used to think that clean and analytical should normally sound best. Now, I realize that depending upon the genre of music, that feature can become rather robotic and sterile sounding. For me, this little amp hits the sweet spot. For both music and dialog it is smooth, natural, and lightly musical but not at the expense of any detail. One small complaint.... although it has plenty of power, I would prefer a larger and vented case to better mitigate heat build-up powering higher impedance headphones (ie my DT880/250). A quiet axial fan though, does the trick. Certainly, not a deal breaker or even an issue for low impedance phones.

Audio quality is very much unmeasurable. "This sounds better than that" says everything and nothing. All I know after a few weeks of using this amp is: I no longer enjoy the headphone outs on my UAD Apollo x4 audio interface. Even when watching movies or gaming, there seems to be an airy quality in the Topping sound that I could not put into numbers or descriptive language. That said, I can think of a lot of things that would make this little box more enjoyable to use: The front panel is horrible. Who likes glossy plastic these days? The positions on the 3 position on/off switch are unclear and need to be memorized rather than read (There is some white 4pt. type on there somewhere.) Optical TOS input would be MUCH appreciated. These are all gripes that don't matter a whole lot. The little thing delivers more volume than you'll ever need, even with finicky 250Ohm headphones. And it renders the audio with clarity and authority. Plus: I appreciate the price!

As an upgrade for my home audio setup, the TOPPING L30II NFCA headphone amplifier has been nothing short of impressive. The amplifier is incredibly quiet thanks to its NFCA circuitry, and it delivers clean, powerful output that easily drives my high-impedance headphones without any hint of distortion. I appreciate the three gain settings and preamp functionality, which allow me to fine-tune the signal for both sensitive IEMs and demanding over-ear cans. The compact chassis feels solid and looks sleek on my desk, and the included linear power supply is a nice touch. Paired with a good DAC, the L30II makes music sound detailed and transparent while maintaining a neutral tonality.

Overall I wasn't very impressed with this headphone amp. It is lacking power and the sound character is a bit incisive, like it is trying to force detail. It's on the brighter side of neutral as well. Also, I am not sure if I can trust the company. After reading about the issues with the first L30 and Toppings response to it, I'd rather not deal with a business like that.

This amplifier is paired with a Topping D-10 The three-setting variable gain is a big plus. My planar headphones like lots of current. Many headphone amps don't have enough power to adequately power planar headphones. In the high gain setting this amplifier has more than adequate power. At roughly half volume it is more than loud enough with my HiFi Man HE-4XX.

Très bon ampli, la gain par rapport à la sorite casque d'un ampli de puissance est audible. Chauffe pas mal à l'utilisation donc attention au placement la sortie RCA ne fonctionne pas en même temps que la sortie casque, il y a un switch en façade. C'est son seul défaut

Ho acquistato questo amplificatore per utilizzarlo con la mia cuffia AKG K702 (62ohms). Collegando la cuffia direttamente alla mia scheda audio esterna (Presonus 26c) il volume era molto basso anche con il potenziometro al 100% mentre ora il volume è ottimo. Molto comoda la possibilità di scegliere tra 3 diverse potenze di uscita (hi, midi, low), così come il selettore di output tra cuffie ed eventuali diffusori/amplificatore. La qualità dell'audio mi sembra ottima, con una risposta in frequenza piuttosto lineare. Bello il packaging e ottima la qualità costruttiva (chassis e selettori in metallo, potenziometro di buona qualità, piedini in gomma antiscivolo), piuttosto ingombrante l'alimentatore. Unica nota negativa: scalda davvero molto, dopo qualche ora la superficie superiore diventa quasi rovente. Rapporto qualità-prezzo buono, anche se probabilmente il prezzo (120€) potrebbe essere leggermente inferiore. In conclusione, un ottimo prodotto abbinabile a diversi modelli di cuffie.

Había escuchado que la parte más barata de una interfáz era la salida de los audífonos. Tenían razón. Yo uso una clarett + y mis Neumann NDH30 suenan adsolutamente diferente en este dispositivo. Una gran compra. Sólo un pequeño detalle y esta es la única razón de las 4 estrellas: se calienta bastante, pero en verdad bastante. A veces me da un poco de miedo.

Bei Recherchen im Internet stieß ich bei Audio Science Review auf die als exzellent bewerteten Geräte von Topping. Die Berichterstattung führte dazu, dass ich mir zunächst den PA5 II besorgte. Diese kleine Stereoendstufe übertrifft meine Erwartungen bis heute. Doch meine alte Vorstufe erzeugte viel zu viele Verzerrungen. So war ich auf der Suche nach einem neuen Vorverstärker. Topping geht stellenweise sehr eigene Wege, die sich aber als kluge Innovationen erweisen, wie etwa, dass sie ihrem Kopfhörerverstärker auch mit einem Vorverstärker für line out ausstatten. Denn ich bevorzuge das Hören ausschließlich über Lautsprecher. Die Testergebnisse auf ASR gaben dem kleinen Gerät beste Noten, vor allem was Verzerrungen, Signal-Rauschen-Verhältnis und die Ausgangsleistung betrifft. Mit dem nur einen Line-Eingang konnte ich mich arrangieren und höre mit ihm drei digitale Quellen und einen Plattenspieler. Denn die Alternative in Form des Pre 90, war mir etwas zu kostspielig und ich wollte ein Experiment durchführen. Denn der L30 II dürfte klanglich auf einem ähnlichen Niveau spielen, so zumindest meine Vermutung. Nach einer Einspielphase von um die 140 Stunden öffnete der L30 II sein wahres Potenzial. Auch wenn dieses Gerät klein erscheint, spielt es einen mächtigen und großen Klang auf einem sehr hohen Niveau. Das Maß an Auflösung, der sehr groß abgebildete Raumklang, das Fehlen von Rauschen und Verzerrungen, die tiefsten Bässe bei einem absolut neutralen Klang eines Frequenzgangs, der wie mit einem Lineal gezogen erscheint, all dies verdeutlicht, wie überaus kompetent dieses Gerät auf höchstem Niveau spielt. Ja, das kann ich ohne Übertreibung behaupten. Mir sind Geräte bekannt, die über 3000 Euro kosten und nicht diese feinste Transparenz aufweisen. Natürlich muss man so verrückt sein, einen solchen Vorverstärker mit seinen kostspieligen Signalquellen und Studiomonitoren zu kombinieren. Aber ich hatte Vertrauen in die sehr vielen exzellenten Messergebnisse. Auch wenn es sich um ein sehr günstiges Gerät handeln mag, spielt es im Gegensatz dazu sehr groß auf. Anscheinend ändern sich gerade die Vorzeichen und Verhältnisse. Hersteller wie Topping belegen das auf eindrucksvolle Weise. Denn bislang galt es als Voraussetzung an Geräten, die ein hohes Budget erfordern, dazu passende Komponenten zu kombinieren. Anscheinend geht diese Ära nun vorüber. Denn damit ging ich bewusst ein Risiko ein. Selbst wenn das klanglich nicht gepasst hätte, wäre es kein Problem es zu verkaufen. Der Verlust wäre gering ausgefallen. Ganz anders stellt sich das bei Geräten dar, die vom monetären Niveau eher zu meiner restlichen Kette passen würden. Der Winzling L30 II bestätigte nicht nur meine Theorie, sondern übertrifft bei Weitem meine Vorstellungen und Erwartungen. Wer auf der Suche nach besten Klang für kleines Geld ist, kann ich dieses Gerät wärmstens empfehlen. Über die Funktionalität für Kopfhörer kann ich keine Aussagen treffen.
