Lots of fun for kids
We have been so happy with this game. My daughter and her friends love it. The selection of songs is great, with a nice variety for different age ranges. My daughter especially enjoys the songs from movies, like Despicable Me. The real kids on the screen make it easier to follow, and we found the dances easier and more fun than on the other dance games we have (while we enjoy Dance Central and Zumba, we are a little klutzy, and have an easier time with this one). My daughter has special needs and sometimes gets frustrated with using game menus, but this one has been fine for her with no problems, and she and her friends have been having a great time.

Ok songs, Poor Design
Kids enjoy the song selection but this game is no better than watching these songs and dancing along to a DVD. The dance move prompter is useless and the kids just try to mirror the dancers on screen. There is no learning mode and the menu interface is one of the worst on kinect.

still getting used to it
I got the kinect for my kids for Christmas. I was hoping the kinect would be easier to use then the Wii for my 2 year old and 5 year old. Of all of the games I got them, they like this one the best. I finally got my 5 year old to understand how to work it. I wish it came with some kind of "adult" override, where we can use the controller to select options for our kids. Unfortunately, if my kids are playing while I am doing other things like making dinner, I have to constantly stop walk over to the area, wave my hands for it to recognize me, then select their options. The "playlist mode" is ok. The best way around the constant selecting that i've found. The songs are good...

Sooooo much fun and a great workout, too!
My kids and I love this game! It's got some great songs, all appropriate for young kids, and some really cute dance moves. It's easy to follow, even someone with 2 left feet like me can keep up. After a few songs, you'll be surprised at how you've worked up a sweat and are breathing harder- it's a great rainy-day energy burner when we're stuck in the house. We love it.

I am a bit disappointed
I guess I'm spoiled by Dance Central. Just Dance Kids 2 really cannot compare to Dance Central at all. When music starts a few kids on screen just start dancing. It does not break down the moves for you and it does not teach you the moves. And the recording was cheaply made. Seriously, I should have just bought a DVD for kids dancing and let my kid just dance along...I still give this game 3 stars because the songs in this game is age appropriate for my 5 year-old girl, and she likes dancing along with those songs, and the dance moves are easy enough for her to follow. Dance Central is good but most of the songs are definitely not age appropriate for little kids.

6 yr old loves this!
Our daughter would be dancing every chance she could, if she didn't have to share the Xbox with the guys so they could play football! Some of the dances are a little difficult for her age, but I think she'll eventually grow into them (if she doesn't get bored with it before then!).I love that she's up moving around, & getting exercise rather than just sitting around. It's also really nice when she's worn out & falls asleep BEFORE her usual bedtime! LoL!!I would definitely recommend this to anyone with kids at least 5 & up.

Not good enough...
My two daughters (ages 6 and 4) love dancing, but this game causes more frustration than fun for them. Many of the songs are too advanced for them leading to low scores and reduces the number of songs they're willing to try. Additionally, the random score bonuses at the end of the round end up either demoralizing the child with the lower score by rewarding the obvious winner or "blueshelling" the winner by allowing the other to leapfrog for no reason. The developers seem to have included this "feature" to balance out the wins and make it fun for everyone, but it accomplishes exactly the opposite. The Kinect is usually a pretty good controller for my youngest daughter, but something about the way this game was programmed causes it to not recognize her at all. It will not let her control the game for some reason and often loses her during the dance even though she's still right there. For a game marketed to kids, it seems they did a pretty poor job of ensuring it would work for their most obvious age range (3-7). We will end up trading this game in because they never play it anymore - it's just too frustrating for both of them for different reasons.

fun
Even the 2 year old gets into the game. Good choice of songs. Keeps the children interested and active for hours

Great for Kids
I only gave it 4 stars, because the game itself is a bit slow on character recognition (it takes 30 secs to recognize you and start to work), so every-time you walk away, you need to wave your hand for 30 secs to get back to the game (a bit frustrating for kids).Besides that, the game is fine, and kids like it. There's different types of music, so it works with multiple ages.

Just Dance Kids 2 - Kinect Required
Got this game for the kids, and they love every minute of it. Great way to keep those kids active on those rainy days. A plus for parents is watching your kids dance away while excersizing without even knowing they're doing it.

Pretty good
Some pretty good songs for kids, about 10 they like. Could be more user friendly when selecting songs and creating playlists. Play lists seem to disappear and can't figure out how to name them. Kinect loses the kids sometimes and you have to "hide" and come back before it picks them up again. Not the quality of the Nat Geo wrt the Kinect accuracy. Over all it's pretty fun with some work arounds that require an adult to help.
