Better battery life.
This is the new larger battery for the RS. If you have the older R camera this still fits but not in to the R cage due to being slightly larger. If you have the Smallrig cage for the R (there isn’t one for the RS at the moment) this battery will not fit that cage either. So get the upgrade kit with new camera module, cage & this battery. Oh, if you need to mount a light or microphone in the new cage you’ll need the new cold shoe mount and microphone adapter for the RS. Pity a cold shoe wasn’t built into the new RS cage, I think it was silly not to do so.
