Eddie Bauer Stowaway Packable Backpack

Bought this backpack for a recent trip to Alaska. Absolutely love it. Perfect size for personal item on flight, taking on tours, biking, and walking around town. Had plenty of room for my packable rain coat, binoculars, gloves, extra shirt, water bottle, and miscellaneous other items. The inside sleeve worked great for my ipad and travel documents. The outside zipped pockets were good for items I needed to get to quickly without digging through the main compartment. Also, the price was good. For some reason two colors had a coupon when I ordered, so I got black cherry for less than $25. I really like the color. It looks red in the listing, but it is actually a really nice black cherry shade. It is also water resistant, but does get wet in ongoing rain. I put my items in a plastic bag in the backpack when rain was expected and my stuff stayed dry. It didn’t seem to wet through to the inside, but it never poured when I used it. Very comfortable to wear. Quality is good and zippers work well. It is a packable if you want to put it in your luggage or for storage. Definitely recommend!

I brought this backpack in my luggage to my long travel to Japan to be used for a short 3-day trip. This bag is so light yet can carry a lot. And unlike most pack-able bag, this has sufficient padding on the back thus very comfortable to carry. I highly recommend this backback to anyone looking for a very light weight pack-able yet well-padded backpack.

We both have these now for our travels. They are well made, comfortable, attractive and light weight. Empty, they take up very little room, great for travel. In running through large airports, it is far more comfortable and secure to have these. I like to have both hands free. They fit under the seats of aircraft well. When ashore, they make it easier to go shopping. Love these!

Got this on sale for $20 during Prime Day and I'm glad I did. This bag frequently goes on sale so, if you're thinking about it, you can always wait to see if it drops in price. The 20L feels like the perfect size. Considering the straps are thin (it is a packable backpack after all), loading up a bigger version with tons of stuff doesn't seem like the best idea. I wish it compacted a little better/smaller but it's still pretty impressive. It takes a little practice to get it packed and unpacked but once it's ready it's very useful-- lots of handy pockets and the main compartment is roomy. The water bottle pockets are a bit too loose and my bottle fell out during my testing of it, so I don't think I'll use it much in the wild.

Love this backpack. I love that there are so many cute color options. It is very thin and flexible so you could basically roll it up and stick it in another bag or in a suitcase or something very easily. I do wish that it had more substance to it sometimes, but if you’re looking for a lightweight backpack, that’s easily packable that you can actually fit a lot in, I would really recommend it if you don’t need it to have a ton of external structure for extra padding or anything like that. There is no extra padding with it, but it gets the job done. I also really like how it fits because a lot of backpacks are too wide for my shoulders or the straps are too thick and fall off, and as a slightly smaller female, this actually fits both me and my 6 foot husband comfortably.

I got this for a trip to Malaysia and love it! The 30L capacity is roomy yet it didn’t take up much space in my suitcase. It easily fit overnight essentials for a part of the trip when we couldn’t take luggage. It has the high quality and comfort you’d expect from Eddie Bauer. Highly recommend!! The care instructions say “do not wash” but I was nasty sweaty in the rainforest and thought I’d risk it. It washed beautifully in warm water on the delicate cycle (my machine does not have an agitator).

Used only once but the size and level of comfort for a foldable bag are great. Went on a 2 hour hike and carried 2 foldable chairs (one Tigris-recommended) and water bottles and other little things and it was great. All fit in and carrying it was no problem.

It is good quality for the purpose. I ordered all black so it would be sleeker transitioning from the trail to dinner while traveling, but if it bothers you, be warned there may be some deep permanent highly visible creases that don’t come out even with a little steam. It makes it look a little less put together for me as I was aiming for something that would be able to make the trail to dinner transition. I'm keeping the bag as I don’t think there is a better option at this price point and weight that doesn’t have the same risk of deep permanent wrinkles.

great for travel. Bag holds up well when stuffed full of finds while on day trip. Does not feel like it's going to tear anytime soon. wish the bag packed more elegantly into itself but that's just me being picky

Perfect carry on bag! My last 20L Eddie Bauer stowaway exactly like this has been thru many years of South east Asia trips and Mexico with all weather conditions, and some, and it’s still in perfect shape and sturdy as day one!

Buena calidad. Se guarda bien en su bolsita. Bastante impermeable en lluvia tal vez no muy fuerte pero si constante. Se mojo por fuera pero no paso al interior. Secado rápido.

This is my second one of these! First one was used heaps and lasted well for 8 years and could probably be mended (just a little tear) but love the new colours so grabbed another one.

Easy to fold and bring it anywhere! Can fits lots of stuff due to its foldable function!
